Not sure if this is affecting everybody or just my user, but the new posts page / stream fails to load and returns a server error message. The same is true for the recent posts option. The forum seems to have been struggling a fair bit with stability issues of late, but it seem to always come back online after some period of time. My fear is that this type problem I'm now seeing, might not get the same priority with regards to resolving it, as the forum is in fact up and running. But, this feature is important for its usability and speaking for myself I think I might eventually loose interest if this feature remain unavailable for a prolonged time. No disrespect to those that volunteer to keep the lights on around here, I know what it takes to run a forum and appreciate the effort, but if usability and stability gets below a certain level, I believe a significant share of the user base will wander off to alternative platforms. That's just the sad facts.
it's not just you. I was looking for an old post of mine last night and the "Your Content" link in the profile dropdown menu returns the same "server error" page. Might be a number of links broken and in need of review.
What this means is that the Search function is not working. The queries that are not working all depend on Search. You can try a general forum search and get the same error.
I'm not taking any pleasure in saying this but this is by far and large worst managed forum I've ever used. I understand that it's a hobbyistic side gig for the forum's owner, but I'm getting an impression she's only popping in from time to time and those are the rare moments when we can hope to have anything fixed. Other admins seem a little (but not hugely) more active and willing to help but they are either limited in their access privileges or just kept under the owner's boot when it comes to decisions. It's not the tiniest forum ever, I can't see the total number of registered members, but currently there are 70 members and 800 guests online -- while I don't expect the forum to run (and be run) flawlessly, failing to run it to at least a decent standard is a bit disrespectful towards all these people in my book. Seriously, if you (owners & admins & whoever has any say in it) can't afford the time or effort, or simply don't care, to provide a decent level of user experience, please consider handing it over to someone who will.
Just for your information. UPDATE! Forum migration to new server delayed a week to 9/3 or 9/4. It has been easy to find it, to me at least...
