They posted some new pics of this bag (in Coyote Brown) on their forum. They also have a couple of pics of it next to their Urban Zippy for comparison..

What makes you guys pay 300 bucks for a bag like that? Seems like very high price to me? Not hating, just interested...

The same reason you pay more for a lot of things,Quality. They're made in the usa too.
Kifaru and Mystery ranch are about as good as "tactical" bags get.

I'm two plus years with a Kifaru Bag for EDC, and yes it actually gets used every day. I carry my wallet in my bag, figure out how much the average guy carries his wallet, and that's about the same use that my bag gets. Daily slung into the back of the car for the ride to and from work, dropped and kicked under the desk at work, dropped on the floor next to my computer at home, worn when I'm out and about. Carried out to our lot packed with junk and hung on a branch on weekends, just generally abused. After two years, wipe off any dirt and it looks 100% brand new. No popped zippers or loose threads. No worn spots. nothing.

Yeah, they're expensive. No, angels don't sing when it arrives, and it doesn't magically make everything inside lighter. It's a bag. A well made bag with the currently best available materials by decent people in the United States. Not almost slave conditions by a kid in China, but real people earning a decent living. You can get bags that are almost as good for alot less. I don't splurge on everything. Some people buy nice new cars, mines eight years old with 215 thousand plus miles. (Hoping for 350 before I retire her.) Some people buy Rolex watches. I buy kifaru bags. (Three and counting...but I sold two for about 75% what I paid for them.)

Don't worry. I'll be on the other corner doing the same thing.

If they can actually keep these in stock, the light speed will lose customers for sure.

It's a great question. For me it comes down to: build quality, attention to detail, customer service and supporting what's left of small, local manufacturing. I don't mind paying extra for something which might very well outlive me.

This new bag from Kifaru looks great. I think the brown version really pops. Black might suit more people for EDC though. It's a very innovative design. Can't wait to see more of it.

I like the look of it, but can't see it replacing my x-ray for small pack duties. BTW, my x-ray has been used and abused on Welsh coastal cliff paths, in remote West African mountain rainforests and strapped to the top of a 4x4 in Madagascar –– as well as daily urban EDC use almost constantly for 3 years. It's a little faded (mine's black) but there's not one sign of failure. As mine is a G2, I always thought that the material over the torso pads would wear or rip first, but my concerns were unwarranted.

There are no reviews yet as nobody (outside of Kifaru) has been able to get their hands on one.

Everyone is in a holding pattern just waiting for these bags to be released..

It really doesn't seem that great to me, The shape is cool, but other than that, nothing new. Just imo. Also... two things that bug me, is having grey thread, always hated when MaxP did that. The other is the straps, haven't worn them, but they look meh at the edge binding. If you cant bind the edges neatly like camelbak or TAD does, then stitch them inside out. looks way cleaner.

I realize that was likely a prototype, but hopefully they keep the QC up on that for production. :)

    I like Kifaru.
    I like panel loaders.
I like external water bottle pockets.

That said, this bag just looks like clown shoes to me.

I have to agree. I would like to see this thing in black though and see how that ends up looking.
I like the idea of it not looking tactical.
