I was thinking about getting a preon 1 and went on the 4sevens website and found that there is a new version out. It says new preon 1 and 2 and also you can still get the "classic" version. Anyone have one of these yet or have anymore info on these?

I have the normal Preon 1. It's a nice light. I wish the low mode of 2 lumens was more like 1/2 a lumen, and I wish the light purple tinted beam was more like sunlight/white/orange.

Your post here is the first I've heard of the "new" Preon 1. It looks pretty darn nice in many ways. However, the low mode is too bright for me, and it still uses pulse width modulation, so I wont be buying one.

Two similar small clicky lights I would probably buy first - Thrunite Ti5 NW or the Lumintop Tool.

A version in titanium would be so 'money-baby'

I'm not a big fan of it, I'm not into the knurling they added, i preferred the sleek look the original one had, plus the it needs a moonlight mode and a neutral emitter!

A better side by side picture. Actually, they're about the same size. Obviously, I am comparing an old titanium model versus the new aluminum version. Personally, I like what they have done. The axial micro cuts are a nice plus. If you are a fan of the Tactile Turn pens, then you know what I mean.

Hey guys - rules prevent me from placing a link here, but the new Preon I is completely program capable. PM me or just go to foursevens Web page. So yes l-m-h is available

I guess they threw in this mode for those who love the mode sequence of cheap multi-mode lights. :nah_disagree:

I wish they would include a sequence like in their original Preon: L-M-H with the disco modes only available after two cycles. It was a brilliant system.

To me the new Preon looks like a Streamlight Microstream body just with the knurling.

I wonder how it would react to a 10440 cell?

I've tried it with the 10440, and it gets hot on high.
Right now, just using a nice eneloop rechargeable battery and it's plenty bright for what I need
I need to check with foursevens to see if the light is compatible with 10440
