    どいたしまして。 ごめなさい、 わたし の にほんご へた です。
It has been a long time, haha. I was trying to remember how to say "Minor" in College. I know major was せんもん, but I wasn't sure on the minor. I haven't written or spoken Japanese in 4 years and I've always been terrible at Kanji. You are correct, I don't use a translator-just a Japanese keyboard. I have a friend in Yokohama that I've been trying to introduce to EDC, but he's not interested for whatever reason. Nekolf, do you generally receive positive or negative feedback with the concept of EDC in Japan? Are knife laws prohibitive, or have more people started to come around to philosophy of preparedness in recent years?

Wo0ki3, "Minor" in College is "副専攻 (ふくせんこう)". Kanji is difficult for we Japanese, too. There are approximately 2000 kanji commonly used. We can not read and write all of them.

Most of Japanese people are not interested in EDC at all though we have been damaged by a huge earthquake many times in the past.:nah_disagree:

There are strict laws against the blades, furthermore, a cap lifter and a can opener are not required in everyday life. I don't say to people around me that I am an EDCer because they think that as if I declare carrying dangerous weapons. The EDCer is the minority, it is natural in our country that your friend is not interested in EDC.

The situation does not change at all in recent years. A case caused by a knife is reported by the press on a large scale. The preparations for a disaster are considered in each home, each companies, each schools, etc...but they don't carry around.

Yes, it's new. There was no dealer who has a Sebenza in stock in Japan. I bought it from US dealer. They shipped very quickly.:)

Traditional washoku "Toshikoshi Soba (New Year's Eve Buckwheat Noodles)"

Eating Soba at the new year's eve night and wishing for longevity is one of our good old traditions. Today, we bought Soba to go at the local Soba restaurant as per every year.

Soba-Tsuyu (soup) with Japanese long leek and Wasabi. Have you tried wasabi? You should try it if you have not tried it. Surely you would be moved to tears.;)

    Happy new year!
I heard most of the wasabi we eat isn't real wasabi root. I hope I can try real wasabi some day. And maybe a square watermelon.

    A Happy New Year!:Juggle:

    01 Jan. 2015
We went to my parents' house to make a round of New Year's calls on New Year's Day. It is an annual event in our country that parents and brothers and relatives gather for New Year holidays. Unagi42, thePlumbah, Brtsmpsn, Antithetik, philodemus, Doraemon, sorry for the late reply and thank you for the New Year's greeting.:)

Today, we went to my wife's parents' house. We saw the Mt. Fuji on the way to their house. We were able to see it very clearly though it was 100km away from here. It is said that Mt. Fuji of New Year holidays is lucky.

The king of traditional washoku "Sushi"
They treat us to so much sushi for every new year holidays. Description would be unnecessary. This is the genuine sushi.
