Just got this today. It's by knifemaker Neil Blackwood and was made approximately 9 years ago. As you can see, it has been well-used, but not abused. It's constructed of Ti which has been anodized and imprinted with a creature of some kind, a Gryphon, I believe. The edge is not carbidized. It suffers the failings of many credit card knifes. The finger holes are too small and should be located on the bottom of the knife, not the top. The edges are not smoothed and the finger holes are not radiused. It's very thin. All of this adds up to an uncomfortable grip. However, it is a cool statement from a very successful knifemaker and they're hard to find. I've been looking for some time but without success. I even wrote Blackwood and asked if he would make me one but he declined. In any case, it makes for an interesting and worthwhile addition to my Credit Card Knife Museum.
Hi Six String What is the black card in the middle It think its stamped tekna Do you have any info about it Thanks
Aphid, thanks! I knew some of that but that really fills in the blanks. Much obliged! Another company has purchased the name and is reproducing the Security Card. Not for hard use, but still very cool.
Snody is about as good as it gets. At least until some other unnamed knifemaker gets around to releasing his.
What are the Blackwood cards worth? I have a bead bast one, but can't even recall what I paid for it.
