Looking for a AAA flashlight that can handle 10440, for my pocket EDC.

    I need some expert recommendation.

I basically need 3 modes & very high lumens output (throw & flood 50/50).

    Have shortlisted the following:-
    1) TANK007 E09 Cree XP-E R3 (from DEALEXTREME)
    TANK007 E09 Cree XP-E R3 (from FASTTECH)

    2) TANK007 TK-703 HA-III Cree Q3-WC (from DEALEXTREME)]

    3) TANK007 TK-702 Cree P4-WB (from DEALEXTREME)

Which would be my best option? Or there is a better deal i have not seen?

Was considering Fenix LD01 & the 4sevens preon but its ex for me.

    Thanks

I suppose you mean Tank007 E09 for the FastTech link?

Tank007 TK-703 is good on 10440, at least for mine. The only drawback (or advantage) is that it has only one mode. It throws well though. It is a reverse clicky, so if you have large fingers it might be a little difficult to press. It tailstands well.

Tank007 E09 is a very popular light also. It is also able to run off 10440 (for mine), but I have not used it frequently with 10440. It is a twisty and tailstands well too.

Oh yeah., should be Tank007 E09. Have edited it.

Between the E09 & the TK-703, which have a actual higher lumen & throw?

    Thanks

nez329, the Tank007 E09 seems to have better throw on High compared to my TK-701, both on 10440. Based it from my eyes observation, but the E09 heats up faster. Just get both and you can compare it for yourself :p

saw this in action, felt it wasn't bright enough.

    Will the Tank007 be brighter?

Is this what you are refering to?

It even includes a TrustFire 10440 battery & charger, seems very worth it.

But :censored: i dont have paypal & i prefer using credit card.

Also I can't seem to find reviews on this.

Would this be brighter then the olight I3S?

    Thanks

The I3S has the very latest XP-G2 emitter, so it should be a little brighter than the Tank and probably more efficient, too.

    Oh. I see.
Well locally i can get the I3S (but now out of black) but from reviews it seems not as bright as tank (I think) & it gets a little hot when my local supplier demo the I3S with a 10440.
So i kinda wanted to get something better than I3S in terms of using a 10440 battery. Brighter specifically & slightly less hot would be better.

You can't have it both ways,,,, the brighter the light from a 10440 then the hotter it runs

Generally you don't want to run a 10440 in a AAA light that costs $10.

Probably the best light on the market (that I know of) is the aluminum Eiger UltraX.

    * Direct drive = no driver to mess with, won't run on alkalines, only 10440
    * Epoxy-filled = better heat transfer
    * Aluminum = better heat dissipation

With the cool white XP-G2 it's well over 300 big lumens. I think it's rated at around 425 emitter lumens. Just remember that most lights on a 10440 will get warm pretty quickly and will give you about 7 minutes on high before the battery is empty. Some regulated lights lose low modes and the high becomes pretty much a turbo mode so the QTC (IMHO) is a great solution in the Eiger. You can squeak out about .2 lumens if you want or crank it to the stars.

Why not? I just tried checking out this Black Maratac AAA http://www.countycomm.com/aaa.html and there was no shipping fee.

    Fstoplights?

Well, I would say go with Olight i3S. It's brighter with 10440 compared to the other two Tank007. The twisty is also nicer and smoother to operate than Tank007 E09. However it has less throw more flood than the other two Tank007. You can get i3S and E09 from FastTech, and TK-703 from DX.
