I just found this thread and when I searched for a folding pick mattock the search led right to this thread as first on my search list. LOL how funny is that.

I just picked one of these at an estate sale. It is being refinished. I got it for $1.50. I got a folding shovel/pick combo for 50 cents several weeks ago, and an m1950 artic tent complete for $10.

I have been lucky with the Militaria as of late. I will post pics of my finds soon.

I have not seen any markings on mine. Not sure of origin. I have not found anything besides this thread on them at all. It was unique. Nice to snap it up for cheap.

These are three entrenching tools that I have about $5 total in for all three. I rescue them and use them for my own purposes. The left is a 1952 shovel pick combo, Middle is a 1945 shovel, and the right is the folding pick/ mattock combo in primer.

Judging by the robust builds of the US military shovels, I would conclude that the lighter steel, unmarked pick/mattock combo is a foreign piece, maybe civi. At least NOT US military, though I have only ever seen one on this thread.

The tent and stove cost me a total of $40. $10 for the tent, $30 for the stove. I still need one more chimney pipe. The tent is a M1950 single pole design with arctic liner. The seller thought it may be missing some poles, hence the $10 price. The picture of the set up does not do it justice as I did not have the recommended tree tie off and elevate the opening as would be required and my rear yard was not large enough to set it up completely.
