Ok I know it's still a long time till mid June, but I want to have a idea witch one will be the one to get, and how much will it be.

This knife will be for my step-dad, we only met for about 4 years, but he's truly a nice person.
He's a gun guy, just like me, but he's not a knife guy, so everytime he needs to cut stuff, he will need me around. So I think a folder will be a good choice.
Here's what I think will be better:
    1. Right/Left hand pocket clip, he's left-handed.
    2. No linear/frame lock, I think it will be easier for a left handed person.
    3. Partially serrated will be nice.
    4. Country of origin doesn't really matter, as long as it's solid.
    5. Manual opening will be better, we live in Oregon but he travels around.
    6. Under $100, more than that I think he will want me to return it.

Anything axis lock is great for a lefty. Maybe a benchmade griptillian.

Benchmade Griptillian, or the Mini Grip. Pick a drop point or sheepsfoot pattern.

    Griptillian sounds good.

My dad loves anything cold steel. I have bought him other knives but he only carrys the voyager from like 15 years ago. My point here is, start out with a lower priced cold steel to see if he can hooked on knives, then you can slowly open doors to higher end ones. im not saying "oh who cares just get him a cheap knife", not by any means. but cold steel is great for non knife crazy people.

I bought a stainless spyderco delica 4 for my father last year and had the handle engraved. He carries it everyday and loves it. It is such a great blade for almost any task.

Ok, I was never a cold steel guy, but I've seen they have some nice ones. That can be an option.
For Delica 4, he's like 6' 5" and like 250 pounds, so I am afraid it might be too small for him.

I would have said PM2...But, you said " no liner lock "...:nah_disagree:

How about a full size Griptilian with some custom scales ??

Lol, PM2 might be too expensive too.
I just checked the Cold Steel serrated knives, they look impossible to sharpen.
So I guess the Griptilian will really be the one to go.

You don't need partially serrated :)

i completely agree with the serrations. as much as i love cold steel i still hate how they do serrations. i have one half serrated, and i cant even fix the teeth with a dedicated serration sharpener. i will say that when new, they cut through anything! but after all the fun is over, it really is over

Well, I personally prefer one plain edge, one serrated.
But I talked to him before, he really like serrated edge, yet he's not like me carry 3 knives at the same time.
So I thing partially serrated is nice for him.
    Thanks for the recommendation tho!

Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight (Blue Scales)...definitely a "nice guy" knife if there ever was one.
