Last summer I bought a Camelbak HAWG from LAPG since it was on sale and I wanted the bladder. $35 for the bladder and bag seemed like a good deal. Like the bladder but hated the bag. My son(8 yo) on the other hand loved the look of the camo and asked for it for his school bag. To the bags credit it has held up extremely well and I am very impressed. Today he asked me about getting a new bag for new school year. I have a use for the HAWG, now that is nice and soft and broken in, so I said yes and asked what kind he wanted. He said he wants more patch space. I showed him the Helikon-Tex EDC Lite Pack.(https://www.amazon.com/Helikon-Tex-Lite-Pack-Urban-Line/dp/B07RBM9T3V/ref=pd_sbs_468_3/132-2484472-2357119) No idea of the quality of the bag but he looked at it and said more patch space. So here I sit at my laptop looking for the most tacticool bag with the largest patch panel and i'm at a loss. I'd like to get something from a decent brand and I always have uses for extra bags. The Tactical Tailor Flight Light Removable Operator Pack might have a large enough panel but the $130 price tag is high. Looking more for a $50-75 option. At the minimum I can get him a Jansport and sew two velcro panels on it and let him go to town and that might just be my best bet. But I figured i'd ask the backpack experts here before brushing up on my sewing skills. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you TL;DR I need a backpack with ALL THE SPACE for patches for my 8 yo son.
