Great review, beautiful pictures! What type of dog is that? Good looking animal as well. Where are you from? You speak/type better english than most Americans.
I meant to ask about the dog myself. I've been trying to convince my wife that we get a German Shepard or Belgian Malinois. We've always had two dogs and one passed a couple of months ago. The dog in the pic is beautiful. Also, one of the better reviews I've read.
Thanks guys! ppfd, I come from Poland. I reviewed the pack in Polish Tatra mountains, nice place to visit! And the dog is German Shepherd, indeed great dog. Loves to play with my kids, he could do that all the time
Loving this thread!!! I want this pack but it's SO expensive! Great review and photos. Do Not Demand What You Cannot Take By Force
Love the pics showing the actual wearing of this bag. This review is bad mojo for me. I put in an order with a local vendor (Australian) back in April last year but it has yet to arrive. I have been in semi-regular contact with vendor and have a long email chain as testament to my inability to lock one in. I was advised by Patrick at MR to go through local vendor but it appears to be mission impossible. Anyway, I've referred the lengthy wait back to MR. I want this bag so I can retire my decrepit Blackwolf backpack.
great review and pictures! landscape almost looks like here - although we dont have much snow at the moment! looks like i need an mr asap now! regards from tirol!
Excellent review PiterM. Your pics make me recall my two tours in Europe during the late '80s and early '90s. Beautiful country. That pack is awesome. Your review and another review of the ASAP on this forum inspired me to make a purchase of this pack in coyote, with stick-it, just recently. I anxiously await next to my mail box. I own another Mystery Ranch pack for long distance backpacking (MR Glacier 4200cui) and can say the quality and comfort is fantastic. I'm completely satisfied with their products.
I’d take foliage, because it’s usually a grayish green. Black is nowhere a real good camouflage colour, except in absolute darkness. As urban camo it better would be a darker variety of real gray (see for example Arc’teryx’s “wolf” colour). Use black if you work for a security service or as LEO.
I really like the look of this pack and it might be something I could consider for the future, but as I live in the U.K., it would need to be good to cover the expense of getting one. One thing that really concerns me is also one of its selling points; the tri-zip opening. I'm struggling to see how it closes in the middle where all three zips meet. I'd be worried the contents of the bag would get wet from ingress of water in the middle between the zips as I imagine there would be a hole there.
I like the foilage but ordered black. For some unknown reason I always default to black. Anyways I'll post a few pics when the ASAP arrives.
