*I'll post pics as soon as it gets out of the wash.

I need some help finding out information about it though, I'm hoping you all can help me. I'm sure it will be easier once I get pics up.

I was at the second hand store today and picked this gem up for $5. Was a bit dirty, so it's in the wash as I type this. Anyways, it's made by "Uphill Down", made in USA, has YKK zippers, and is canvas or hemp. It has a leather bottom/base, which both makes it stronger and gives it support. It feels very durable.

I can't seem to find anything in with my Google-Fu. I found Uphill's site (I think) and lots of other bags by them, but they are all vinyl/nylon. I can't find anything made by them in canvas. Which either means it's old, or I'm looking at the wrong company.

Seems odd to me that I can't find anything about it considering it's a USA made item, and seems to be really high quality. Usually that criteria generates a following, with easy to find information.

Anyone have any idea? Again, soon as it comes out of the wash I will put pictures up. I can't wait to start filling it, though. Feels like it's taking forever to get done. I will also post loudout pics too.

Finally out of the dryer! Here it is, I'd greatly appreciate any help identifying it. I'd like to know if I got a good deal or not. I'd say regardless of what they cost retail, for $5 I'm happy.

Looks like an older version of their Summit. I like the one you have more than the newer ones. It doesn't say where it's made now.

Thanks, I like it better too. It does look very similar to what you linked though.

Hehe, Gnarly sent that to me. Basically it's a section of paracord, several feet of fishing line, and a strong magnet. The idea is that if I were to drop a knife, keys, or something metal into a hard to access area (such as a sewer grate) I could unravel the line and drop it down. The magnet would grab the lost tool and pull it to safety. I always carry it with me now because I can see myself needing it someday.

I put some new paracord zipper pulls on the bag. And, of course, I've started reevaluating the contents..... it's a never ending thing.

I fully expect the next edition of the DSM* to classify our particular hobby a form of insanity. :bounce:

Wow, that's a nice pack for the price. A nice pack at ANY price, actually. Will last a long, long time by the looks of it.

I had a canvas bag from Rothco and this beats that hands down. I really like canvas bags, they are so comfortable. This bag offers that same comfort but also adds support and durability.

On another note, I ended up consolidating a few I'd the pouches into my specops pack rat. Now the weight is distributed a little better.
