Finally broke down and bought another Techno. I sold mine about a year ago to fund a Hinderer, but I soon realized the Techno is, in just about every way, a better knife than a 3" XM-18.
So, today I have corrected an error of judgement that has bugged me for some time.
Loving your thread brother. Your pictures and gear are awesome
sent from S6 edge plus. boom!!
Thanks for the kind words.
Really, that surprises me.
Yeah, me too.
I found issues with the fit and finish of the XM-18. It had a lot of rough spots in the machining and the G-10 doesn't match the Ti. The XM is not a "more hard use" knife - I stepped on it an bent the Ti under the G-10. I understand that sometimes uneven grinds add character to hand ground blades, but mine looked like a blind monkey did it - the grind was very much noticeably off, and it had one of the worst pocket clips I have ever encountered… and centering the blade on the Hinderer was more involved than any knife I had ever owned - not what I would expect from a knife this price.
I carried my Sebenza just about everyday I had the Hinderer - the Sebenza is a much higher quality knife and much sturdier - it has 2 thick Ti scales as opposed to the Hinderer's 1. If I had to choose between buying a small Sebenza and a Techno, it would be a tough call, but I think I would get the Techno because it is half the price and the differences (tolerances) are purely academic.
Thanks for the info..
I must say I am very happy with my Sebenza but it's also my first and only 'decent' knife, I did consider getting a Hinderer at the time but sounds like I made the right decision!!
I just this week saw a custom mouse. Basically a techno with an insingo blade shape. Love at first sight but I still haven't dared to find a price on it.
Yeah, I saw that odog got a green gen II. They aren't expensive from Marcin, I think around $800 - problem is, I think there are like 4 of the gen I, and only 2 of gen II.
Could you provide some more info about this little FOB. Is it a Tritium one ?
I got it off Etsy a while back. Sorry, but I don't remember any other details.
I bought something similar not so long ago from
shop = InnovoDesign on Etsy
Good luck Z
YES! That's it!
