hahaha Like you, I've tried many suspension clips. These are Ti Munroe 2011s. Not sure if they were even called Dangler yet. I find that the wider area tears up pockets less than the newer /thinner DTS and the slight up curve on the bottom doesn't catch on things like P7s. Biggest problem is that I cant find any.

Matter of degrees. Regardless of width, any dangler with 90 degree edges is going to shred pockets. The wider ones might slow the process due to spreading the weight, but pocket wear like rust never sleeps.

The Japanese fishing hook danglers with their radiused edges seem to be the kindest to pocket edges and even sweat pant waistbands.

I haven't tried the brass hooks, but the KeyBar Ti Hook seems to be pretty gentle on my pocket. It is wide and has smooth edges.

Someone makes the perfect product then discontinues it - why does this always happen?

I am currently using a KeyBar Ti Hook, which is okay, but I like the shorter length and lower profile on those.

I was kind of partial to the brass, and with the price of the large and small hook being sold as a set for under $10 with free shipping.... too good to pass up.

I can't stand the smell of brass, personally. I do have a brass MassDrop LuminTop Tool, but I coudln't stand it for the first couple months. Fortunately, the patina is finally starting to stabilize and I'm actually carrying it today.

I've almost bought those a few times simply because they are so cheap.

So weird. I feel the same way about 1095. Until it has a patina it drives me nuts. Even during the process. I see guys dip it mustard and it freaks me out. Hahaha[IMG]

Hahahaha. I'm still around. Been traveling a lot.

Emmrod Packer/ 21 inch 7 coil with a Pfluger president XT. Throw that in your carry on. I've caught fish from Alaska to Hawaii.[IMG]

I have been thinking hard about those Emmrods. I like the concept, but I just have to wonder how effective they are at setting to hook on something like a bass or trout.

They have different coils from four to eight.
I've never had problems setting a hook as long as the drag is set.

I am a fly fishernan but find spinning rods more versatile when I travel by plane to fish.

Never tried salmon or steelhead on the emmrod. Maybe this fall.

My best friend has a kayak and we fish out of that quite often (even in the ocean, on occasion). I think the Emmrods would do well in the kayak, especially on smaller streams where overhanging trees can be problematic when it comes to managing rods.
