This little problem I had with Fisher space pens. Think it's because of the smooth surface. But you know, Alox is a little bit rough and so there's no chance to loose it. I'm not a really slim guy . Maybe this helps too .
I lost my Case Peanut the other day and was heartbroken. It was in my coin pocket where it normally rides. I discovered the "style" of Levi's I wear has a sort of signature "wear spot" on the side of the coin pocket. The knife slipped out. Fortunately I found the knife in my car between the seat and console. I prefer to carry a small slippie in that pocket. Gonna have to sew them up or something.
Not on purpose, but what's a guy to do? I love my Sage 2 it's made of titanium, S30v and sensuality, it's so right it's almost dirty, gotta have it with me, right hand pocket, but my BM 940 is such a nice knife, long, slim blade, perfect for slicing apples, and it's the only thumb-stud opener I own that flicks open so naturally, it's as though Mr Osborne came in the night, measured my mis-shapen paws and skulked off to design a knife that worked perfectly for me, me I tell you, left pocket it is. Then, of course, every man needs a beater knife, how about the Buck Vantage in the console of the Volvo? Nice but still manly. And I guess since, technically, my LeafStorm lives unobtrusively in my laptop case, waiting for the perfect moment to be deftly plucked out to lavish its teutonic beauty upon all those who gaze upon its exquisitely proportioned visage I'd be up to four, if you neglect to include the orange Skyline in my tool pouch, slim, lightweight, attractive in that understated, I'll cry like a little girl if you pry with me, way. Errr, I guess I carry more than one knife...
Heh heh heh, poetry in motion? I carry a beater knife- Spyderco byrd Robin in the front right, and the "special use" knife is the SOG Aegis.
couple of Kershaw and a Vic Classic... Just like different screwdrivers, different blades for different uses.

I think you do yourself a great disservice if you unilateraly relegate fixed blades only to farm/bush use. Jep, and media does it part by frightening the people with knife-crimes. If you'd carry a fixed blade open, most people would be scared about you
I wonder where I'd find a statistic on how many people are attacked by non-kitchen knives that cost more than $100. Bet it's almost non-existent.
Big fan of the fixed blade and I carry one daily. I choose not to at the mall.. I would never have thought that I would get criticism for not carrying a fixed blade. It honestly wasn't meant as criticism. I just found it funny/ironic that both you and Fukurai both made the Urban/Rural distinction for fixed blades in back to back posts. I am a big fan of smaller fixed blades on discreetly riding on the outside of my bag. Sometimes they are faster than reaching into a pocket when the back is handy or if I am hanging around the house unbladed (shorts or sweats). There are several FBs I wouldn't mind for IWB or similar. Unfortunately there are probably some that are well within blade length limits that would still result in getting hassled not because there are particularly dangerous looking, but because they are a little left of center.... No problem. It was just the balderdash...disservice comment. We are all different. I would never let an unguarded knife hang from my bag in an urban setting. For me, mall= no, but I only go there with the truck to pick up all the stuff my wife buys. Lumberyard=probably. I have never had an occasion where I needed a knife quick. If two people say rural vs. urban, maybe there is some validity to the statement. I think we have seen how blanket statements work here, they do not.
1. Benchmade Mini-Grip in pocket 2. Victorinox Classic on keychain If I will be in the woods I will add a fixed blade, and if I will be working I will add a Leatherman PST on my belt. I have thought about the Ladybug but the scissors and tweezers on the Vic are too useful to give up. While the Ladybug does have a more capable blade than the Vic my Mini-Grip can handle whatever the Ladybug can plus some.
