    Hello All.

I'll be travelling with my family in a few weeks, and was looking to pick up a set of two-way radios for when the wife and i have to split up at the mall, or when one of us ventures out into the neighborhood while other stays back at the hotel with the kids.

i had one of the first motorola talkabouts from about 12 yrs ago, which was great at the time.

I'd like to buy a set of motorolas this time around, but i also see that there are cheaper alternatives around such as the Cobra brand. While i'm sure that the Motorola's are of better quality, i wont be using them in any rugged capacity and was wondering if the Cobra radios would suffice.

Does anyone have any experience using Cobra radios? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thnaks!

I would go with a pair of Midland's. GXT1000VP4 if possible at about $70.
