I think I'm going to get the 007 with a leather NATO. I'd still like the monster, but I'll save it for later. I'll post pics when everything is in.
Seiko's have a hacking feature, something usually found in more expensive watches (not always though). If you need to sync the watch, you need to hack What is the pusher for? It looks like a screw down.
It is a screw down. The pusher sets the day. Time and date are set via the crown. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
The 7s26 movement on the 007 doesn't hack or handwind. The 4r36 movement on the new Monsters are hacking and handwinding.
I got the 007. First thing I did was remove the SS bracelet and put on a black leather nato strap. It looks very handsome. Pics will be posted soon.
Here are the photos of the 007 on my leather nato. I didn't even bother with the SS bracelet because the leather strap came the same day as the watch. I love it. It's comfortable and keeps pretty good time; a bit slow, though. I also got a brown leather nato for my Orient Flight watch. I HATED the leather band that came with it. Now it's like a whole new watch, and I really enjoy wearing it too.
Wait a second? I'm really liking the way a dive watch looks on leather? I hate that! I'm so confused.
Yeah. I didn't like the stock jubilee bracelet, and forget about rubber, I hate rubber. I wanted it to look more "put together" than a regular nato strap, so I tried out the leather nato. It worked out nice!
AHHH!!!! I found my Mako!!! Now I've got both. Just need an OM to finish the collection . The Mako needs new spring bars since one of them is bent. Unfortunately the spring bars are such an odd size (1.6mm) finding replacements usually means finding a replacement band. Any suggestions on that front?
I love the look of the 007. However, I think you get more bang for your buck with a Monster. I have one, and I think it is great.
I have had the 007 for 10 years and the monster for 2 months. I love them both I can not choose which is the best. Lol
Hate the monster, used to own a Mako and I loved it (but I realized I prefer lighter, more rugged quartzes). But SKX007 is an absolute classic.
Woow... Just my kind of thread... I'm checking Seiko watches few days... Deciding what to buy... So far Orange Monster is on top of list... Though 007/009 look tempting. Also I'm between old and new OM... To make it more complicated I stumbled upon Land Monster which is cool looking watch. And Field Monster Orange on Black dial which... So now 3-4 watches are on top of my list....
Have had a 007 for the past couple of years. The stock oyster band feels very cheezy in the endlinks. I normally wear it on a black leather band or a grey nylon G10 strap. With a better metal band I may like it that way. My wife bought me an Orient Ray Raven for my birthday. I really like that watch, and it's become my daily driver. The black matches everything, and I still have an accurate automatic on my wrist.
the black resin band on my orange monster suffered a catastrophic failure after about 6 years. I have since replaced it with a Grey Nato band, and it gets a LOT of compliments. Untitled by Wojo19, on Flickr
