Not super monsters but within the context of 20 bones I think they qualify, BLF Eagle Eye X6 Special Edition

a cool white and nuetral white, I have a third kicking around somewhere...

And I am really liking this 4 AA monster, Nitecore EA41

Over a thousand lumens in such a small (same length as the ZT 0350) package on AA batteries

I have a Nitecore EA11 on the way as well which I am looking forward to for it's power on the 14500 but with the option for AA.

Nice photos! I've been getting really interested in the 4xAA lights. How do you like the EA41? The compactness and the use of common AA's are very appealing.

Thank you, I used the K40Mvn for the lighting.

    I LOVE the EA41m specifically the UI, I am a big proponent of a 2 button interface. If I want a simple on/off light I just use the power button, that's it. No twisting, half presses, twist/twist back, etc. Click on, click off. With memory it's even moar bettar. I also like the feature of the lockout using the buttons, not super difficult to remember. I also like;

    • Hold power button to activate becaon mode
    • Hold Mode button to instantly access turbo
    • Battery charge indicator after tightening tool cap
    • Very solid build and feel
    • Great output for AA batteries
    • Uses easy to find AA batteries
    • Very compact light
I normally would have gone for the Fenix first but it is not a 2 button UI. I believe the Sunwayman is but is like double the price of the Nitcore.

Thank you very much for the detailed review. I think I will really like the UI on this light. It's seems to be very similar to what the Nitecore EC2, EA1 etc uses. After seeing your photos, I wen't ahead and read bunch of reviews on these 4xAA lights, and this will probably be the one I choose when the time comes to get one.

    The latest:

    Left to Right:
    1. ThruNite TN30 - 3 emitters - 2780 lumens - I actually use this light all the time, for photography, when I'm shooting EDC stuff, indoors. It really helps a lot.
    2. Fenix TK51 - 2 emitters - 1800 lumens
    3. Fenix TK41 - 760 lumens
    4. Jetbeam WL-S4 (MT-G2 - 2600 lumens)
    5. ThruNite Catapult V3 - 780 lumens (according to selbuilt CPF review).
    6. Armytek Barracuda (XM-L2 T6 - about 1,100 lumens)
    7. Maglite 6D with TerraLux - 3 emitters - 1,000 lumens (probably more like 600-650, but I couldn't leave it out of the mix. It's a piece of flashlight history, with an upgrade :)

I'm seriously wishing I had purchased two or more of these, while they were on special.

Just picked an EagleTac MX25L3C (6 Nichia 219 emitters - 3 18650 batteries - 1810 OTF lumens). Absolutely beautiful output. Pictures to follow :)
