I got mine last night. Awsome tool. Not as well finished as one of Peter's pieces, but then again that's what pushes his tools into the realm of art. Nice stone washed finish, the decorative flourishes provide a rock solid grip. The bit is a to remove, and that can only translate into excellent retention. The only thing I might tweak on this tool is a v-notch in the "tail", for better nail pulling capabilities. Other than that nit picking (because lets face it, a small pocket tool for pulling a good nail in solid wood is a poor choice) a rock solid tool. I give it a 9.5 outta 10. O0
order placed through the banner. Will put pictures of the standard and metric for comparison reasons. Won't be until January though. Oh well, I can wait. ;D
Mine came today, WOOOHOO!!!!!!!, really tho it's a nice tool, a user and I don't think it is too large for EDC keychain use if you don't have a lot of other stuff hanging on your key ring. mjmcdowell
Mine arrived today! It's the exact same length as the Pocketwrench II and only a little wider and thicker. Weight wise they seem almost identical. Seeing them side by side is kind of funny - the Piranha looks like a super-evolved version of the pocketwrench.
I have a question about the Piranha, is both wrenches SAE? You would think it would be something most popular sizes SAE on one side and popular metric on the other. Also; MK7 is there still quite a delay on the ordering/shipment of product?
Now that is a GREAT idea! What I want most is a dual scale version with both english and metric. Using the open wrench for one and the box wrench for the other seems like the perfect compromise. I'm sure it would appeal to an even larger audience than the one-scale versions. If they make a dual-mode version I'm going to have to buy yet another one. Probably several. ;D --Bob Q
Very nice, I will order one because I always found the feeding frenzy to obtain Atwoods to be rather off-putting. Seems like a good company that supports a good forum. No brainer for me O0
I emailed then yesterday regarding the metric and haven't heard back from them yet. They usually answer within 24-48 hours so I will check back here when I hear from them. Don't know about the S.A.E. though.
I just got an update today. I didn't email them asking but they sent this: We are contacting you because you placed an advance order with PocketToolX and we would like to give you a brief update on the status of order. Due to an issue with one of our vendors, we have to delay our expected shipping start from next week to the week thereafter (the week starting 1/18). This is an unfortunate situation that was outside of our control, but we are taking full responsibility -- we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Thanks for your order!
I just ordered the metric model to keep the S.A.E. model company, even though I have not received the first one yet. My second purchase was based upon 2 things: 1) the glowing reviews form people who ordered early enough to have already received merchandise 2) the EXTRAORDINARY customer service this company has shown me I will not go into detail, but I have given Justin permission to do so if he so chooses. If you have read my posts and trust my judgment enough to take my word on faith, These guys are #1!
I received an update that the first metrics should be shipping within a week. Here's to hoping! My Standard sure is getting lonely. Justin also mentioned new products coming but couldn't mention any details.
My metric one's arrived in britain now! But it's with my mother, so I can't wait to see it this weekend, great work MK7!
Dang, I should be getting mine no later than Monday then. I was one of the first to order....... Thanks for the heads up on getting yours!
