Hey MoT thanks for the coffee n EDC pic. I'm inspired.
Cheers Red, thought you might like it, nice comeback! Boom, makes me wish it were morning so i could drink a fresh one!
So i got a new phone the other day (FINALLY!) and decided i'd try one of those magpul cases. When i had the iphony 5S (rip) i couldnt stand using cases because they ended up becoming huge monsters of thickness.
Iphone 7 is basically identical in size to the 6 and the magpul 6 cases were at more than 50% discount (stock clearance) so i got one of those. Swore for about five seconds when i noticed the lens was half covered so i got to work.
I'm going to try the stippling hack when i get home, i like getting discount gear because i feel less bad about tearing into it with modding.
Next week i'll show you my attempt at improving the CS Jungle handle. Mediocre aestetichs but functional mod. Too much work for a first timer to figure out how to do it
I can highly recommend the northern parts of the swedish west coast, avoid the tourist trap of Smögen an just head north by foot, bike or sail. Most highly recommended is rock-trekking with a daypack (just stay off any wet cliffs that are black, they are slippery like oiled marbles, step in one and you're in the sea, true story.)
I saw this spot, thought you folks might appreciate!
Since i miss @Nekolf and his daytrip photos i'll just have to post my own then. Somebody gotta represent.
My buddy LavaMagnus and his uncle Skipper took me out for a spin, 24 nautical miles, pastries, fine cheese and non-alcoholic beers (dont drink and sail, it's illegal)
And some more natureporn:
Oysters, irl, alive and kicking. Protected species so i just tapped them gently to see if they were alive. They were and did not appreciate the attention.
Loving this little gem!
Hey Mot nice folder and sheath. I've seen that before, but need a refresh... who makes it? Looks like a flipper with the prominent blade stop?
Hey Red! It's a Strider PT, smallest one he makes. CC version (no clip and more rounded profile) and it's not a flipper which of course could be cool, but the studs have the dual function of opening and reinforcing the structure like on ZTs. Basically it's the same idea as the 301 and 350, sans flipper or assistance, but man o man. What a knife!
It opens real nice with the spydie-drop move too.
Sadly the Strider shop is closed so if you want one you'll have to get lucky on fleabay or here. Used ones dont come cheap either. This one is basically in perfect condition and the price was very decent. On the bay some editions go for multiple times the retail price in near mint shape. :brr:
I blew my CRK Inkosi budget on this when i saw it without thinking twice and i'm happy i did, the overall grip space on this is as comfy as my Sebenza with half the blade size, perfect urban carry. I kinda made myself addicted to them too so now i'm out looking for one of his mid sized ones too
The sheath is one that came with it from that place that knives ship free from if you know what i mean? They still sell those as far as i can see.
I got them together in the BST from @PerfectZebra, he has some pretty nice stuff if you GAS is acting up, true gentleman in business and friendmaking
Very nice indeed! Dig the the Stryder drop point blade.
Me also, thats the one on mine, very happy about that
I was a little nervous but it sits in the hand like nothing i've used before and the blade seems to be the right shape for a lot of different uses. Even if it looks tiny beside it it really only compares to the sebbie as far as ergonomics go. Or a mid to high end fixie. Fixies are fun because you only notice it when they handle poorly, folders otoh you notice when they feel like a fixie, imho at least.
It's got my BM 943 beat on all points except for ease of closing, THAT is high praise coming from me
Do you have any shots of it open? No preshr though..
Just because you asked so nicely
I didn't have the patience to find the right light angle like i stumbled on in the first pic, which is why it didn't make the original cut
Now that's what you call jimping! Great tumbled finish too. I see what you mean about the handling, the convexed grip profile and rear angle must really help.
Thanks for sharing!
I know right?! I understand the guy himself has had a few controversies to cramp his style but his solutions on how to make a folder are brilliant. I have the larger Buck collab which is basically in the same profile. I was pretty skeptical when i opened the box but after one hour of playing all questionmarks were gone.
The finger choils help a lot also, sure you loose 2/3 to full inch of edge but having a full size grip for hands way bigger than mine (mine are small) gives you a lot of control and opportunity to use a shorter blade really well.
I'll get you some more pics soon, forecast says tomorrow is a fine day for garden projects and gear shots!
I'm not worthy...
I'll just be looking at my humble Spyderco's and ZT's Ha! kidding....maybe.
Ya all GAS has been dissipated for awhile now. Leaves more room for coffee.
Aw man, spydies and zts are prime stock and their usefulness is thousandfold, never look at your babies any other way!
Oh man i oughta be sleeping and all i want is a cup of joe. More coffee is always better. I gotta eat noodles and potatoes to afford my habits right now...
Well said sir!
Turns out todays weather sucks so i took some indoors shots instead.
yo @KoksKniven where are you and why aren't you posting some silly stuff in here? #skärpning
Need that morning cup..
Wow great!! Always admired the Stryders. The PT is smaller than I thought. Really nice MOT. So Stryder's are not in production currently?
