First time poster - thanks in advance for any feedback. I'm looking for a minimalist sling bag to hold a small pistol (Sig P365 at the small end, but maybe periodically a full size pistol), and maybe a few other items. I'd prefer a gray approach (no Molle), so I've looked at the Nutsac Man-Bag Dammit. The MBD seems a bit more like a purse/murse, and not really set up for holding a pistol. Should I change my thoughts on the sling, or are there other suggestions? I took a quick look online at the Maxpedition Lochspyr, and while it seems closer to what I'm seeking, I'd love it with the materials from Nutsac instead of the nylon.

Google:
Cache L1 Concealed Carry Shoulder Bag

I found these on tactical geek. Look better than the one I got from China a while ago that I still use. Easy to wear driving under a jacket.

Thank you very much. I found the Cache and it’s a bit larger and tactical than I’m seeking. Another item that is closer to what I want is the Bellroy Mini Sling. Maybe I just need to get something like that and see if I can tweak it so it has an interior Kydex holster or other pistol retention system?

Take a look at the Vanquest Carbide-8 and Carbide-12. I just picked up the Carbide-8 to use as a grab & go for quick trips to the store, restaurant, etc. Might be what you’re looking for.

Thanks. I feel like Goldilocks - that Carbide 8 looks pretty cool, but it’s about 2x as big as the Bellroy Mini, which is the closest *for looks and size* that I’m seeking.

I hadn't looked at the Bellroy Mini till just now. I see what you're going for. I don't have one, but the Vanquest Dendrite-Large is similar to the Bellroy. 4L and can be worn as a sling. It is CCW capable, but does say for sub-compacts.

Awesome - looking into these now, but my initial reaction is that this, or the small, may be perfect.

Check out the Vertx Tourist or Essential sling.

Vertx makes some great stuff. Purpose-driven, off-body carry bags.

Thanks. I’ve had my eye on the Tourist for a while, but for different reasons (as well as a few of their larger bags that would hold a rifle). They both look great but a *bit* large for this purpose.

If you like Nutsac, look further into them. They make a bag designed for EDC weapons with holster and molle inside the bag (if I remember correctly). Nutsac Tacsac 11” and 13”.

As a chronic Vertx user, the Tourist is one of, if not THE best true edc bags I've ever had. To my taste in poridge, it's just right.

However, I suffer from carry too much crap syndrome so I downsized to the hillpeople gear belt pack carried bandolier style and it's held the top slot in my rotation for quite some time. Only downside is the glock 43 is the absolute max it can handle in terms of a firearm. [IMG][IMG]

@demPho - thanks for the info, and the great pics! Just curious about a few things.
• What's the "Bad M F'er" in the top pic?
• What's the pen in the 2nd pic?
• Any chance that a kydex holster would fit in what appears on the HPG site to be a separate pistol pouch? Just thinking about drawing, and printing, especially if I have solid objects like pen, flashlight, etc. in the adjoining pouch that would make it more likely to press the pistol against the outside.

1. Its a handkerchief with a nod to the greatest film ever made, Pulp Fiction. I don't remember who the maker is though. Had it for quite a while.

2. Boker Plus K.I.D Cal 50 bolt action

I have my HPG maxed out so everything is pushing on everything in every direction but it works out.

The CCW pouch is in the rear of the bag so no printing concerns.

There is a vertical velcro strip on the rear panel. I stuck some hook on the back of my Tulster IWB holster so I can draw from the holster without yanking it out. The holster eats up some space but it works and leaves me the option to go on body as necessary. Only thing I haven't worked out yet is due to the compression of all my crap crammed in here, sometimes the mag release is depressed so everytime I touch the bag I just push up on the bottom to make sure the mag is seated. I agree. Vertx tourist is the perfect grey cc bag. I carry my m&p9 compact in a hawg holster I added velcro hook side to. If I can't carry the bag, I pull out the holster and it goes appendix.

I have a non-tactical looking ccw sling bag from Tactical Tailor. Slightly pricey, but American made. The bag suits your described purpose. I often use mine as a go bag on weekends, even when not carrying.

Is this the one? https://www.tacticaltailor.com/concealedcarryslingbag.aspx

Thanks again to everyone who has replied - especially to a new guy who hasn't contributed anything. (I'm on some other message boards and rookies are often ignored.)

I *still* have not made up my mind - in part because I am too easily distracted by other research or "need to get" projects. At the moment, here's what I'm thinking (fwiw):
• Bellroy Mini - looks to be a good size and very low key, but I'm not sure whether and how much tinkering I will have to do in order to make it CCW appropriate.
• Vanquest Dendrite Small - about 2/3 the weight, capacity and price of the Bellroy Mini, and looks to have better internal organization. BUT out of stock for a while in preferred color.
• HPG Belt Pack - this one looks really great and similar to the size of the Dendrite small. A bit more tactical looking (IMHO) than the other two, and quite a bit pricier. But it could also come in handy when I'm doing some outdoor activities (hunting) where tactical looks don't matter.
• Finally, I've been asking myself, "how much do you need this bag?" since my EDC pistol is the P365 and fits pretty nicely under just a t-shirt while wearing shorts in the summer.
I know what I will probably do is buy more than one, then see how they work out. And for the HPG, maybe it would be a good option in case I want to switch from the P365 to something bigger for EDC.
