I really want a miniature version of the SwissChamp.

Not the MiniChamp. I need the same tools as the SwissChamp, but the size of the MiniChamp.

Does this exist? Has anybody made something like this? Where can I find it?

Somehow, I don't think a 58mm woodsaw or fishscaler would be very useful, and good luck finding a magnifying glass that small.

Instead of the magnifier, the in-line Phillips can be extended.

It’s definitely possible, if you’re willing to pay for the custom work. You’re probably looking at a couple hundred dollars. However, as Yablanowitz points out above, some of the tools won’t be very useful in a miniature size.

Trying to open a can with a 58mm handle would be "interesting". Probably be easier to rip the top off with your bare hands. And good luck pulling a cork with a scaled-down corkscrew.

Yes, it could be made. A couple hundred bucks isn't going to do it. It would probably cost you a grand or more, and it wouldn't be good for much besides a conversation piece. It would take a LOT of custom precision machining to make it work.

I had an alox mini champ but ended up giving it to my daughter. I found the blades to be too fiddly and I found the cutting blades were too thin for heavy cutting. Also, I could never memorize where the blades were so I'd invariably open the wrong blade on the first try before finding the right one. It was the only knife I've ever owned that I had that problem with. I really wanted to like it but it wasn't for me.

I didn't even think about those two tools. I'm a big Rambler / Manager fan, but I don't use the larger SAKs that much.

You're probably right with things like the corkscrew, can opener, saw, and punch.

And what are you going to do with a 50mm set of pliers?

If you don't thin down all of the blades and springs, the knife would end up thicker than it is long. If you do, most of the tools will be too thin to function reliably. The inline Phillips would end up being a #1 (or possibly a #0) instead of a #2.

Thanks for the reality check guys :(

Is there at least something like a MiniChamp with only useful tools?
    A chisel/scraper instead of the coke-spoon.
A hacksaw/file instead of the nail file.
A pry-bar instead of the orange peeler.
An awl instead of the main blade (I really like the secondary sheep’s foot blade.

I hated the cuticle pusher and file when I had the mini champ. The "thread cutter" is kind of silly too.

Sorry about being such a buzz-kill, and also about having to say as far as I know, the blades you want do not exist in the size you are looking for, so you can't even build what you want yourself unless you can make the blades yourself. I just don't think what you want would be useful at the size you want.

I know the feeling - I've had a few of those myself...

I've always felt that the MinChamp had a lot of "filler" tools.

It sounds like you benefit from pairing a more functional 58mm SAK with a small pry tool of some kind. It would tick some of your boxes for you. A saw is simply not practical on a knife this small and I don't know what to tell you on the awl.

The Rambler hits the sweet spot for me.

I like the Manager, which is basically just a Rambler with a slide out pen on one side.

Personally, I think that is the purpose of all the "Champ" models. "Let's use up a bunch of these extra tools/blades by cramming one of everything into a handle and dubbing it "The Champ". Every time they add a tool to the lineup, the Champ gets fatter.

I'd consider an Alox Vagabond if the price wasn't so ridiculous. They're consistently over $100 on eBay!
