I haven't heard of a Raven but I love the SS workmanship I can see on your watch . Brushed SS is beautiful IMO. Is that a nitrogen release valve I spy on the side opposite the crown? Cool bezel too, looks like it slants slightly inwards. I have a similar profile SS watch and from my experience I need to ask - Have you taken out many door frames as you walk past with it yet? :)

snowkiwi - yes, she's definitely a beauty - thank you...also, you're correct, that's a helium release valve...I try to be careful not to bang her around - it tends to happen with big watches.

Hah! Helium! I had a 50/50 on a lite inert gas and got it wrong. I just think "nitrogen" because thats what gave me the problems on deep dives (getting narced ), so must be the same for watches:p . I Still take chunks out of wooden doors sometimes from my absent minded arm swinging sometimes, due to the 12 years of parades that was drummed into me when I was in.

Yeah, I have a rotation of "beaters" for work. Occasionally, I'll take one of the nice ones to work for a spin.

Military here. I wear my Suunto Core but before the Core I had a Casio Pathfinder. Suunto takes it IMO.

No such thing as too many. And, I prefer to call it a "quest" not an obsession. There are doctors for obsessions and supporters for quests....charge on brother.

Lol nicely put sir! Yeah, I've always thought that a man should have a quality timepiece, along with a good knife...IMHO, both are important tools.

This is my EDC watch when not deployed. It's dressy enough and masculine. When deployed it stays home and I wear a Timex Ironman that I have had for well over 10 years. I never cared for the G-Shock. Too big and chunky. The Timex is inexpensive, has all of the regular bells and whistles and it is tough as nails.

Fire here and for the past little bit it's been a Seiko SKX007 or a G Shock. Either will do, but I prefer the Seiko more, as it can be dressed up/down and isn't too pricey.

I graduated the police academy in 2000. I bought a cheap $9 Armitron watch at Wally World after hearing stories of nice watches getting broken on the job. 13 years later I'm still wearing that cheap Timex Indiglo knock off watch. Haven't even had to change the battery in it.

That is how I found this topic. I'm finally looking for a nice, good quality watch to wear all the time. Not just while I'm at work. I've narrowed my search to a Suunto Core or a luminox 3050.
I'll probably go with the Luminox only because I really don't see me using all those other options on the Suunto. I just want the time and occasionally the date. Plus I just think the 3050 looks bad @$$.
