I stepped away from my 2010 Lenovo M72e Ivy Core i5 PC, Win 10 1607, while it was running utilities. Came back to see my browser was off and it was installing updates that require multiple reboots--not a mere update. I powered off. boot back up to a ' trying to restore to previous version' that was a long 15 minutes. Must have been forcing the 17xx update. fun.

I am a photojournalist and always had a pc. I have finally had enough!!! I went out and purchased a Mac book. It handles photoshop and Lightroom extremely well. Best part about it? No stupid Microsoft updates that ruin your computer.

With MS going to cumulative rollups instead of the traditional update and service packs it's a whole new game. My team manages about 60k desktops and while the monthly fixes aren't as much of a problem, you have less options of what to install these days especially the home users. With the enterprise versions you can at least test and control the deployment but I often come home to find my desktops hosed after an automated push. Reboots especially are a problem. I've seen some deployments require 6-7 reboots before all the patches are installed.

I have a cheap 32Gb solid state hard drive laptop, I do wonder how long it will be until Windows 10 completely fills that up on its own.

My laptop won't load up. The app icons don't show up, and the cursor just spins. I can't even open in peeved mode, or hard reset. I don't know what to do.

Well came back from the refrigerator to see reboot needed for updates. It did it. I went to 'view installed updates' and deleted the most recent. It called for a reboot. ??? OK reboot, it came up Creators Update version 1709. Lenovo says I can't run this on my 2010 Quad Core i5, but it seems to be OK. Checking some of my forums, M$ is really shoving this down everybody.

Seeing this makes me glad I moved away from Windows after XP support ended.

I made the switch when XP was released. It was so much less stable that windows 2000. Been a slacker ever since.
