Anyone else carry one? I keep this Winkler Hawk in my bag. It has proven itself useful on more than one occasion. This little thing is tough. I started with a TOPS microhawk but sold that when I got the Winkler. I would love to see pictures of the ones you all carry.

Nice! I had a little Gerber hatchet that was similar to that. It had a little fixed blade knife in the handle that was held in by a magnet.

Oh that sounds super cool. Ya gerber makes some decent affordable gear. Not the highest end but not bad.

I would love to try a Winkler. I chose the RMJ Mini Jenny Wren. The sheath really makes the system useful. The great sheath and hawk weight make it easy to carry and good enough to the tasks I need to complete. I have no doubt that I full size 2.5lb camp hatchet would make some tasks easier, but I don't want to carry that much weight.

That one is sweet. Those came out after I got my Winkler and I couldn’t justify having two with the price point that both brands come in at. Maybe one of these days

I am in the same boat. I cannot justify a Winkler as I think it is very similar to the RMJ. I think I am going to try a Liam Hoffman camp axe next, but it will be a while.

Hoffman makes some really nice stuff. I follow him on Instagram. Definitely on my radar.

Picked up a Gansfors Small hatchet. 10 inches handle. 1lb head? It's a kindling demon.

My fathers health has been failing and we've been flying all over to fly fish. Limited gear and bags but this little sucker has been great. Kind of spendy but great quality. Life is short. Spend as much time with your family as possible.

Sorry to hear about your father. Sounds like you are working on some great memories with him and the hatchet.

I’ve thought about going smaller again to carry on body. I had the tops microhawk which was nice to carry but like you said you lose some function. Awesome job on the kydex, looks like it should have come with that to begin with!
