And sorry for the poor vocabulary, I'm quite tired and maybe a little drunk. It doesn't help a french guy like me :D

The stock "lens" (window) is single-sided anti-reflective coated sapphire, so you'll want to keep the coated side to the interior.

Thanks very much for posting such a detailed step-by-step guide.

Might want to consider reposting this over on CPF, too, in the McGizmo subforum ... ;)

... after a thorough cleaning

That's what I was expecting, about the A/R coating.

Are McGizmos supposed to be shelf queens ? Don't think so, at least for the latest (I'm not talking about McLux which are gems in the LED flashlights history) ;)
But better pics would be obviously welcome :D

If you feel like linking this post on CPF, feel free to do it ;)

Good! (Referring to you not babying your gear that is)

I feel like I rarely get the chance to USE my Haiku because I end up grabbing my HDS or Malkoff for work because of the UIs. Even my lights that are super beat up, I like to give a good cleaning and lubing every couple months just to be sure they will function properly when I need them the most. Maybe mine always stay in good shape because I take advantage of the air compressor at work and whenever I get gunk/toilet water/ mud/ sawdust/ dirt in my lights I'll just hose them down and give them a good blast of air. It's funny that my McGizmo is the one I would trust must to beat up and abuse being Ti and the testing Don does with his waterproofness, but I rarely use it. Guess I'll have to keep it with me more from now on..

    Those McLux though…. OoooOoOO :D

I lube my lights monthly, but that's pretty much all I do :)

Give your Haiku some pocket time, you'll probably end up loving it and use it more often.
Before I got it, I was EDCing a Novatac 120E (cracked it to 120P UI) and I was in the same situation, I didn't really want to lose the awesome UI....
I gave my Haiku a whole month of pocket without using the NT at all and I fell in love :)

You've talked me into it raggasonic! I think I'll do the same thing for a month just carrying it around. Hopefully I'll gain a few battle scars :D

Not recommended, due to the threads.

There are custom aftermarket ( "split-body" ) alternatives, however.

I have recently bought a hive converter and new XML2 light engine for one of my haikus. Holy Cow is it worth doing to me. The low is lower, the high is higher and switching between modes is so much smoother. I liked it so much I have ordered a new Hive LE for my old XPG bead blasted Haiku. I was happy with my BB XPG Haiku and carried it for years but decided to buy an XML2 haiku and spare 119v head just to play with. When I got them I was not overwhelmed by either. One was a little brighter and one had better CRI but nothing shined. I bought the Hive LE just to see if it was easy to program and see if 1000ma output was a game changer. At this point I have not started messing with the programming but I would definitely recommend ordering a hive converter in your next Mcgizmo whenever the option is available.

1rst is my BB xpg haiku and my PD1 large El Patron flipper. 2nd is my Xml2 Hive Haiku and my S90v El Patron. My regular edc is a Haiku, a patron of some kind and a 9mm Glock.

Should've just said; That Avenger's a beauty !!!... and left it at that. The Haiku's not bad either. ;) No harm intended... and sorry I left out the... :)

Fwiw... Just because someone gives offense, doesn't mean you have to take it. (no offense was ever intended) - No hard feelings I hope... not that it matters in the scheme of things.
