I hate that the Fatboy doesn't have a handle so I came up with this. I used 2 Web Dominators and about 15 feet of khaki paracord on the ends I used the snake knot for rigidity and the middle is the cobra stitch. I got the Idea from this video Link if I don't need the handle I can lock it in the back with the belt loop plus it is also removable (but its a pain getting those clips out) when I carry it this way the main strap falls perfectly out of the way. E-Bay 6 for 10 bucks plus free shipping I pounced on it. if you do try it: tip when you are setting the length don't just lay it down flat make sure you are warring it. Trust me taking all the knots back out is a real pain in the hands ;D

Sorry but this is NOT a Fatboy! It is a Jumbo. Next to the shoulder strap SRB, the Fatboy has a phone pouch, NOT PALS webbing. Nice handle, but not for Fatboy...
The Jumbo's name is "Fatboy Jumbo", most people on EDCF use the name "Fatboy" for the Jumbo, maybe because there's so few people with regular Fatboys and so much with Fatboy Jumbos. Mxp should have named their products a bit differently IMHO. BTW, I have both. (I EDC the Jumbo, but the regular was the first one I bought and EDCed)
according to actual maxpedition product range, there are two different products... at least their names. however, due to the fact that these bags are almost similar, your explanation, stands. Unfortunately, I can't attach a handle like yours to my "regular" Fatboy...
That's not my mod, that's jester02k's. You can search the forum for regular Fatboy handles, I've seen a few of them. One of those I almost decided to make for my small Fatboy was done with rivets on the main flap to attach the paracord strap.

2yr+ bump I know... but I think it belongs w/ this thread =) I recently traded into a 1st gen fatboy. It'll serve as my bag for the car. I tried it out once & it definitely needed the addition of a handle. For the fixation points, I choose to use the undersized pals point & one of the pen holder slots (with a pen barrel insert for added support). I experimented with a few different kinds of hitches but decided to use a basic cobra weave. It works well for me & affixing to the pen slot allows the phone holder pouch to stay in the upright position when I hold the bag via the handle. -AZ
