Has anybody seen this? Looks like a huge step up from the old Maxpedition line. I know a lot of you hate on the brand, but these seem to be cool and innovative new products.
I got the email and the catalog, but I'm not sold until I see some pricing. I love my Maxped gear, but they're starting to trend into the "overpriced" category. I'd bet the AGR stuff is going to be some kind of premium line.
That Riftcore pack looks like what I've been looking for in a pack with the waist belt. Would be nice to see the rest of it though
Me too. I'd mentioned it in the other thread. Some of the pouches look very nice and the hip bag, (If I didn't already have a jumbo). I'm very curious as to price. As pointed out Maxped already strayed towards overpriced, if these are an uptick from that.. whoo.
I have the Jumbo S as my EDC bag.. This new line looks like a Tacticool upgrade to what they already have... & I bet with a premium price tag! To be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace! Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum
... Aren't... "all" these bags 'Tacticool' bags? I mean they're not 'actually' military... we're civilians (for the most part). I'm not sure what would make these new ones more 'tacticool' than the previous ones with the old style molle?? Maybe I'm defining the term differently or something but.. insulting these bags for being tactical seems to kinda take a swipe at the entire forum. (Except for those $500 leather purses that some favor. )
I just took a look at their catalog and I agree. The laser cut molle does make their bags look sleeker, and the EVA cases remind me of H4. Aside for the sleeker look, they really don't do much for me. I'm sure they will be even pricier. Just curious, will washing them void the warranty?
GoingGear's SHOT Show video on YouTube gives a better look at the product line. The bags look really good, and I'm sure they are top-quality. Are they worth replacing your current Vulture, Jumbo, or even RUSH-24? Don't know.
Just curious about if the do a "Mongo-style"-bag (similar as to the Wolfspur is kind of their "new Jumbo"). Maxpeditions Customer-Service couldn't provide me with an answer. So we'll have to see, what the future brings. But the bags definitely have the "I-want-one-of-those"-factor...
I recently watched a Shot Show video of a Tim Tang interview/brief intro demo of some of the AGR line. When pressed on pricing, he said only that they are aiming for a 5-10% increase over their legacy line items. I'm very interested in the 6s pouch. He also said that Max are shooting for a May 2016 AGR release to the public. The video I saw was not the GoingGear video mentioned above.
I don't think they look any more tactical than the original line. To me they look more "technical" (as in the outdoor gear world). The only one that really interests me is the Iron Storm. I have been wanting to pick up a Doppelduffel to be my main piece of travel luggage but now I think I'll wait and see if the Storm offers any benefits.
They look ok to me, but I keep imagining the price will be out of the average guys range. IMO, the boondoggle, is a non molle saturated edc bag/pack in the $50-$100 range. Appears to me the edc market is swinging from tacticool back more towards an urban look. Again just my opinion.
The descriptors that Tim comes up with are hilarious. Last year it was the "optical illusion zipper". This year he's moved on to "shape-shifting webbing". Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
