I got into HULU and caught some interesting Korean Drama for a while.Try 49 Days, my favorite there. Then Manga, I think it is called. High School of the Dead was probably the best of what I like, characters, story and less ('saturday morning child like). Corspe Princess was good story line also. A while back I did chance on a good sci fi animation movie, battle cruise in space. any recomendations?

Cowboy Bepop and Trigun. Classics, hard not to love them. There are honestly too many for me to list, but start there and ask for more later :)

I think "anime" is the term you're looking for. Manga is print comic media, anime is animated cartoons.

My favorite anime so far is Neon Genesis Evangelion, but it's not for everyone. Trigun and Cowboy Bebop are essentials. Another of my favorites is The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. On a lighter note is the slice-of-life series Lucky Star. Oh, almost forgot to mention Code Geass.

Just went back and re-read the first post and saw that it was about anime and not manga, but I didn't have the heart to delete my ramble so I'll just post it if someone wants my tips for a good read. ;) Might be good to watch too, dunno.

    Favorites:
"Air gear" best art I've ever seen nothing beats it, decent storyline, oh did I say? Awesome art!
"Say I love you" oddly sized humans, cute story, dunno what I really liked about it, best of the three love stories I've read!
"Detroit Metal City" weird art, awesome story
"Ichigo 100%" another love story, heart breakingly fun in the end, second best love story.

Then you have normal stuff like, Dragon Ball, Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Fairy Tail, Detective Conan, History's strongest disciple Keinechi, Soul eater, Shaman king, D.gray-man, Vagabond, Full metal alchemist, xxx holic, and hundreds more.

The animation hasn't aged gracefully. if you didn't grow up with Robotech, it'll be difficult to get through. The novelizations are amazing though. The first six novels come in three volume collections, so you really only need to buy two books.

I tend to recommend stuff with somewhat modern animation. Robotech has a very memorable story with great characters, but the animation is choppy and inconsistent with plenty of scene reuse. Save it till later.

Someone else already mentioned Sword Art Online, but I'm going to mention it again. Cuz it's awesome.

Well, good anime week. Just finished Demon King Daimo, good story line. Also been watching 'Is this a zombie' and 'soul Eater'. Been watching the fist episodes of others, like Queens Blade, Samurai Girls, and Samurai Champloo. ON the Korean Drama side, great series--IRIS. Going to watch Iris II soon. Still on the lookout for more modern anime like HS of the Dead series. O why did I wait 50+ years to get into anime?

:) The only one I'd really watched/read was Rurouni Kenshin. :D He's cool. BTW, the entire series (English version) is available for fee on Hulu. :D

I watched the live action one that they finally released about 2 months ago.
