I lost me EDC old Wave this week. I have a new wave and tried to EDC it when I got it but preferred the old Wave. Is there a current selling multitool that is more like the old Wave than the new?

The old wave to me felt smaller and lighter, had a better file and scissors and I don't need/want the glasses screwdriver the new has.

Your best bet would be to hit the auction sites and look for an old one.

You can find Pre-2004 Wave's on eBay as new/old stock fairly commonly. But a lot of sellers are aware of it's value so you might pay as much as a new version Wave. If I had to chose between the two I'd probably take the Pre-2004. Just a better overall design without any gimmicks.

I bought an old version online since it felt like an perfect upgrade from the juice s2.. They are similar and if you don't mind the smaller pliers and appreciate the screwdrivers it might work

It's not failure if you learn something from it

I lost my original Wave the day before going into surgery. By the time I has back on the job, I could not find it. Bought the 2nd Gen Wave. Found a nice 1 gen on on my forum.

I wouldn't buy a Wave or a Charge personally. My advice to you is buy a Victorinox Spirt. More tools and a much higher standard of manufacture.
I give that advice as someone who owns all three.

Just got a SwissTool recently (one of the larger ones though, not the Spirit) , and very favorably impressed with the build quality.

It looks like a device to keep the pliers open when in the packaging.

Go to pawn shops. It seems like the ones I go to always have a few Waves.
