I had to "donate" a Huntsman SAK to the TSA when I forgot to check it in my luggage. Although, my wife also "donated" my Gerber Big Rock fixed blade to TSA on a separate trip, so at least we're even . Of course, that means I had an excuse to buy more knives, so it worked out in the end.
Puma made in Germany large folder. Running Tikka XP headlamp. Left at a bivvy site. Two gate lock carabiners. TSA Brussels Zippo . TSA JFK
Fisher Space Pens are designed to be lost. After two of them made good their escapes, I reverted to a Victorinox Manager. On the whole, when I need a pen while out and around, it does as well as the Fisher, and I've never lost a SAK.
I found a big yacht clip somebody left behind in Bosnia. Got a lot of use out of it, but it's retired, due to wear.
My HDS EDC flashlight I suspect my 2 year old somehow got a hold of it and disappeared it to that magical fold of space/time that toddlers place stuff in. I've also lost a custom fixed blade I carried to the TSA (due to my stupidity of not fully checking my camera bag) I hate losing stuff.
I had my first ever SAK taken my airport security because it was in my shorts pocket when I packed them into my backpack the morning of my flight. I think I was about 12. This was less than a week after my grandad did the exact same thing. What got me is that my mum flies with her hiking pack and she's taken her swisschamp (I think) half a dozen times just because she forgot about it and it's never been spotted, but my little camper was spotted. I lost my space pen on the train a couple months ago and I've lost at least three vic escorts on my keys over the years. Thankfully my mum is a drug rep and she was giving them out maybe 20 years ago now. I found a box of them hidden in a toolbox a few years back now. Still carry one. Works great despite being stored in the damp for 20 years.
Lost my Rod Olson flipper skiing Waterville Valley NH this past February. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I lost my Leatherman Skeletool CX last week :-( It must have fallen off of my back pocket somewhere; I did not notice until the next day. Woe is me, I miss that 154CM blade already :-(
I lost: Al mar Pak rat A custom DOuk douk À Dozier Arkansas toothpick A Porsche design pen A SAK Maybe 300000 pairs of sunglasses A Spyderco Calypso 2 A Ohta knife. Ok now I can start crying....
Not lost, but someone stole my previous fully loaded Rush 12, worth around $500, including my Spyderco Kiwi !
Over the last couple of decades, the only EDC items I lost have been two Fisher Space Pens, which are designed to leave pockets, and a Mora Clipper* in a sheath that somehow got detached from my belt and swallowed up in a half acre of yard waste. After lots of rummaging, I accepted the loss, eventually replacing it with another, with an improved sheath retention method. I replaced the 2nd Space Pen with a SAK Manager, which does just fine for signatures, shopping lists and note taking, and carried in my 5th pocket, It is going nowhere I don't want it to go. *I forgot about the Mora in my earlier post.
When I first got into EDC a few years ago I searched and searched for the perfect flashlight. I finally found the EagTac D25A Ti 2014 and fell in love. I carried the same one for years then one day I remember having it when I got out of the truck on a job site but didn’t have it when I got back to the office. I was physicslly saddened by that. I finally found another 2014 Ti verstion and I still love the light but it’s just not the same.
A few weeks ago I helped my parents move to VA from MD and when I got to their place I didnt have my Mini mk2 in copper. Very depressing as I just got it a month or so before and realized the last place it could of been was at a gas station in Roanoke when I pulled out my keys it must of been pulled out of my pocket. The clip on the Mini MK2 is not very tight to begin with. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
