So I have decided to jump back into the wearing a watch fray. It has probably been 10+ years since I have worn a actual watch (I don't count the Fitbit). I have been looking at the G-Shock series lately. My main issue is that they make like a million different kinds and I have no idea what I want/need. I guess the biggest thing is it needs to be under $100. I also would like it to be analog. I am open to suggestions. Thanks.

Not a bad pick if you're looking for something low-key.

Over the past 15 years or so, all I've worn is a G Shock of some sort (or a ProTrek). For the money, you cant beat the durability or function. We got my oldest son a GA100-1A1 and he has it now (He's in US Navy boot camp) and swears by his. I go more for the solar powered ones with multi-band. I currently wear the GW7900B-1 and I LOVE this watch. Never worry about a battery or setting the time. It always matches the time on my phone. You couldn't go wrong IMO with the GW6900. Just be sure to let it fully charge for a day or so. I left my GW7900 in the window for a whole day and it charged right up and hasn't gone below full. The last time I talked with one of my Navy EOD buddies, they were still issuing the GW6900 to the EOD Tech's, FWIW.

So how much light does the GW6900 watch need? Thinking about this, my house does not get much direct sun light because of the numerous trees around it.

It doesn't need direct sun. It helps of course but not needed. I work indoors all day so the only sun it gets is on the 30 min drive to and from work and it stays on High. You could leave it in your car when you get to work and get it at lunch time and it would be full or close to it.
