I have a Goruck bullet (10L) which is almost perfect for my needs. Sometimes, however I wish it were just a teeny bit larger. I tried the 15L bullet, but it is too large. Anyone have a suggestion for a backpack in the 12-13L range? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!
Sorry that I can't help, I'm looking for something of that size too so will be keeping an eye on this thread.
Have you looked at REI? They have a series called Flash. There is a Flash 18 and 22, there is also a 12 that is marketed for kids. They are super light weight and can be stuffed into just about any larger bag, great for travel or as a dayback when backpacking. They are also available in some unique colors/patterns.
Thanks for chiming in. I have a Flash 18 that I use for hiking. I wasn’t aware that they have a Flash 12. I’ll look into it. I think the Flash 18 might be a little too flimsy for my EDC or for travel. Not necessarily looking for tactical, just something that can stand up on its own. But I’ll check out the Flash 12. Maybe as a smaller pack the flimsiness will be okay. Thanks!
Cool. I like my 18. I made a frame sheet for the laptop/hydration sleeve. It seems to help with the flimsyness. My 18 has been through some crap. I can’t believe how well it’s held up. Makes me question the brands that use crazy thick fabrics and charge $200 plus.
Anyone know much about Tasmanian Tiger gear? They do a few small packs, 15L & 9L here: https://www.tasmaniantiger.info/en/product/tt-essential-pack-l-mkii/ https://www.tasmaniantiger.info/en/product/tt-essential-pack-mkii/ Here's a 12L but it's a one strap sling bag. https://www.tasmaniantiger.info/en/product/tt-tac-sling-pack-12/
Man i used to have essential pack 9lit or maxpedition falcon 2 as edc. The first two small and the second too heavy and too stiff material. I find essential pack large with a tad transporter tail attached super!
I don’t have one but have you looked at Vanquest Carbide-12. It is designed to be able to wear as backpack a sling. If you don’t mind a more sporty designed, you might want to look at the Deuter Compact EXP 12 or Race Air Exp. Both are designed for cycling, but can easily double as edc. They are also small bags that expand slightly so could work for lighter carry days as well as slightly heavier ones.
calcium carbide (CaC2), used to generate acetylene by reaction with water and formerly used in portable lamps. It's a joke based on the name.
