I wouldn't call it cross forum drama. Fact is, he brought his ****** from bladeforums here. With respect to the edcf community, I'm really tired of this story. For those who dont know, the edcf link I posted above will get you up to speed
I'm new here and all, but it seems like you are being pretty harsh djjonny ....this CrisFarms fella just seems resolutely determined to find a great knife. I might even call him "intrepid".
It's always best to give folks the benefit of the doubt. I've even lambasted DJ in the past on the same topic. I just don't know if that will help in this case. As you said there is no reason for negativity. The mods can do their jobs well enough .
He's also been banned several times on BF for coming back in on a different user name more than once. Right "flip".......?
Latest one on BF was xperiaacs. Was easy for the mods and to catch him with his usual vs knife can only afford threads, inquire NJ laws and the nail on the coffin, duplicating the blade etch thread on BF. How interesting that "2 different people" etch the same knife with exactly the same pattern I also seem to recall a recent apology, him going through a hard time....etc. Wonder what's his story this time? Chris seriously, imo after all this there's no coming back this time (Ok, I'm breathing. I am now calm...... )
It's an interesting topic regardless of OP. I generally prefer the mid range knives such as the Mini-Griptilian and the Dragonfly II over larger blades (such as an Endura or a Vantage large). Like Flying Dutchman, I'm a fan of the Buck Vantage Small. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, Buck stopped making the Vantages in the small size. I picked up an extra Vantage Pro Small (S30V) and a Vantage Select Small (420HC) beyond the two I had because I liked them so much. They were great values, especially for the higher level steels. I also like the blade shape, flipper action, and the scales quite a bit. I really wish Buck would stop discontinuing the stuff I like. I'm afraid to buy a 110 because I'll probably kill that line.
I really like the looks of that knife too. It had me at "green". The Nano reminds me of the Spyderco Cricket, yet another knife I like but have resisted the urge to buy. Resistance is probably futile.
Yeah, but wallet is saying "Huge bill this month for removing a tree that nearly fell on the house." The knives will wait.
I'm just messing I'm in a similar boat Just bought a townhouse and putting in a security gate, so my next knife (SAK tinker) is on hold
Just ordered my first Dragonfly 2, which is also my first Spyderco. I got the full serrated H1 Salt edition, excited to get it in the mail soon!
i need to get something with H1 steel to go hunting with... the water just destroys anything else. I'm thinking a Salt 1 or Pacific Salt
