I'd like a full size, classic looking 1911 in 9mm. No rail. I've looked at rock island but nobody in my state carries them without a rail and I'm not interested in the GI version. Trying to keep it under $800.

Have ya looked at ruger's sr1911? The MSRP is $939 so you should be able to find it for a little over $800 at a good gun shop.

n/m just looked and in the fullsize it seems all they make is .45 or 10mm. Coulda swore I've seen a 9mm before when I was looking for one in .40

Lol I was just gonna come back and say I don't see it in 9mm. Back to the drawing board. Someone has the RIA in a 22tcm/9mm but I don't like the rail.

I got the Springfield armory range officer for its nice blend of classic and modern features.
It’s more of a recreational gun, as I have a Les Baer that does all the serious shooting, so even though I just passed the 800 hundred mark on the rounds counter, which is by no means statistically significant, I can only say that my sample has been both accurate and surprisingly reliable so far.
Not sure what thy cost in the US, but based on what I paid in Norway I wouldn’t be surprised if you can find it for around 800 or slightly north of that.
