Love your threads but may i ask having different levels of kit ,how much of a task is moving kit between them for daily use,i can see you have back ups of everything (and then some) but there must be a few things you swap around

Im at the stage were i have all the bags i want and need and most of the kit,but maybe im spoiled by too much kit as i have to move stuff and never decided easily of which set up too take along
    thanks

Wow...I've said it before and this just confirms it. You are a very disturbed man.

Awesome...can't wait for the full thread!

I have been edc'ing a colossus for a few days now and I have to say I am really liking it. I added my 3x5 on one side and my rolypolly on the other and it really works well for me.

ACHE - that's WILD man! You certainly believe! :)

    J4C3 - I may be wrong, Ache can say....but the "level 2 " is a military term.
    In short:
Level 1 - - on you, always, the minimum you need for the fight (In EDC terms, what's "on you")
Level 2 - - a quick grab bag - what you need to sustain yourself in the fight (hence the bag in EDC terms)
Level 3 - - what you need to sustain yourself on a multi day mission. a pack - in the military, it's an assault pack.

at least that's the way we learned it.

    Thanx for the encouragement guys!

It's pretty quick. About a minute maybe... I talk about this a bit in the thread.

On a normal day I just take one kit in particular... A LEVEL 2 or LEVEL 3 and rarely, if ever, switch from one to the other on the same day.

Glad to hear your Colossus is working out!

Sorry for the confusion on that... On my kits I call them Level 1, 2, 3, 4 based on size and capabilities. The thread will start outlining this very subject but as a quick overview:

Level 1 - Ultralight kit - It fits in a thin hydration pack - Only has the essentials - What I take when I go running.

Level 3 - My true EDC - Most bases covered - Currently based on a Sitka - It's the one I take 90% of the time.

Level 2 - A lightweight version of the Level 3 - Based on the Colossus - Alternate carry method - Similar contents but everything is smaller and lighter.

Level 4 - An EVAC or BOB bag.

I know many here refer to 1, 2 & 3 like solocanoe outlined, but I use this naming because on any given day, regardless of which bag I'm using, I rarely have something on my person besides keys, watch and a folder.

Looking forward to this ACHË O0

I carry a Fatboy so pretty close to your Colossus, also have a Spec Ops Pack Rat which is similiar.

One quick question though; is that paracord that you have used for attaching your light? If so how did you mange to spiral it?

thanks for setting me straight, Ache! :)

I live on a lot of military forums as I'm an ex-grunt....so the standard system came to my mind right away, but I like your system breakdown too.
looking forward to more from ya! :)

Assuming there's a Level 4 and 5, how are they defined? Three-Day pack, and Mounted?

Do you stage back-up equipment in your car and work, or just leave it all at home??

    From comparing pictures I don't think it's a EX10... any other suggestions?

    EDIT: I think I found out, it's a "Liteflux LF3XT"
