I refer to him as an unofficial Chartreux as he exhibits many of the attributes of that breed (even the bit about playing fetch), but can't be sure of his lineage.

I have had 4 Dobermans now, they are my favorite breed. These 2 are brother and sister 1 litter apart. This is my 1st Blue Doberman and my 2nd Fawn. They are real fun dogs to own but very expensive. I will never have 2 dogs at the same time ever again. The vet bills are considerable.

I would like to Like your pics because they're handsome animals but are those prong collars really necessary? I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just of the opinion that punishment training isn't the right way to go.

I have and always will use pinch collars on my dogs, your not the 1st to ask the question if they are necessary & the short answer absolutely. The male is 108 and lbs and as you can see he is quite lean. The female is 85 lbs. both of them together out weigh me with 8 boots on the ground. With regular chokers on them it has no effect on them to control their march. I have owned large bread working dogs my entire life and also grew up on a working dairy farm. Dogs are animals and like all animals are unpredictable. As a responsible dog owner it is up to me to protect you and your family, children and friends as well as the general public from my dogs if they get out of control. Now if you think that you can control 200 lbs of dog when it decides to go after something, I don't care how big you are your going on your :censored:. So if you thing that is cruel then I'm sorry that you feel that way but that is simply naive on your part. The dogs control the tension on the collars so how deep they bite into their skin is controlled by the dogs them selves. What is cruel is watching them run into traffic and get hit, havering them bite a child or maul a cat or a pet rabbit in front of your child. To have them shot by a cop or a concerned parent. So to answer your concern yes they are very necessary. I have lived around animals all my life and only a fool will trust them completely. In the end they are carnivorous hunters capable of inflicting considerable damage to anything they choose

My basset is 60 pounds and we use a choke chain on him. Not because I'm afraid he'll attack a child or another dog, but because his neck is bigger than his head. They are notorious for slipping out of collars and then getting lost. They have great noses for following scents but can't seem to follow their own to get back home.
