Not the entire family, but my main three bags for hiking, travel, and EDC
Nice. Let me guess. Front, Urban Assault,... I give up, what’s the one on the right?

The one of the right/black is the Mystery Ranch 1 Day Assault
From Left to Right.
MR Front, MR Urban Assault, and MR 1-Day Assault.
Your black 1DAP got me scratching my head for a while until I found out it was not available in the US .

Same happened to me. I did a quick search and read up some reviews, Asia only market apparently. But they are similar to the ASAP's.
They are very similar, but they use the thinner yoke. The ASAP yoke is built like a tank.
The ASAP is a bit smaller than the 1DAP, and as mentioned the yoke is a bit different. Overall, the FRONT, 1DAP, Urban Assault, and ASAP are all similar, but have more differences than similarities.
I bought a 1DAP in Japan based on posts I read on this forum but could barely wear the smaller yoke home. I assume it is sized for the local market but found the harness tight, short and oddly shaped for my body (6'7" & 275 lbs.)
I added a full large sized Futura harness to my 1DAP and the bag transformed into my favorite EDC bag. I would also second the comment about the 1DAP being slightly larger than my ASAP. Perhaps because of the more functional laptop storage. Mine swallows my Macbook Pro, iPad Pro, chargers, first aid kit, daily necessities, food, jacket & water without too much strain. I finally added a beavertail from OV Innovations for quick storage.
Probably couldn't add much more but for an 18L pack it's nicely sized. Comfy too. Prefer it to my 3DAP even empty, Trizip & Vertx Gamut hands down.
I am trying to decide between these three packs, the pricing different is huge -- I assume the urban assault is so much cheaper because it has a fixed yoke/frame system? How's the Front compares to the 1DAP?
The Urban Assault definitely misses a few features from the other two (no hydration ports, fixed yoke, one pocket lid), but besides that it's extremely handy. IMHO, it's a tremendous value and will be a great pack for you. The Front and 1DAP are more similar than they are different, but are still unique enough to weight your options. The Front is definitely set up for hiking and such, so if loads of interior storage is needed then I'd say go towards the UA or 1DAP. The Front is the largest of the three, though, and will definitely offer the most room for loading up. I really love my 1DAP and use it the most. However, it costs a pretty penny. If you want the most options/comfort without breaking the bank, the Front is a really great blend of the other two.
Thanks for the info. I probably will go for the 1DAP first as I am more of a tech commuter more than a backpacker!
Has anyone here tried the MR Rip Ruck? I may have just fallen in love with it...
Actually forget it, just tried to order it on the MR website page and the shipping to the UK is $30 more than the pack.
$160?! Shipping?! Surely that's a mistake
Nope that's the option, $160 shipping to London. This is why I am often hesitant to buy things from the US, because the shipping can be insane and then I get hit for customs charges. I ordered an Echo Niner M-Holder ($29.00), with shipping ($50.50) and then had to pay £23.50 tax when it arrived here.
Yeah I thought I'd be smart and get my TAD Litespeed direct from TAD rather than Hennie Hayes. It turned out it would have cost almost exactly the same to order from Hennie!
Yeah that often works out cheaper, I actually spoke to Heinnie about it yesterday morning but they seem to struggle with MR packs too, sadly, so I am going to have to skip this one.
