My .45 - not the best picture, but it's an older photo. And also, my 15-22.

I used nail polish. I found that it holds up alot better than using crayon. It's been close to a year with multiple cleanings and many many rounds down range and it still looks like the day I did it.

I have new M&Pc 9mm on order WITH the new Apex Tactical trigger kit and the new TruGlo TFO sights both going to be added at my local gun shop. CANNOT wait - will post pics when they all get in.

Oh yeah - all going to be housed in PJ's custom kydex ultra thin IWB rig for 4 o'clock carry.

I'm putting an Apex RAM kit into my M&P 9 tomorrow. There's no way it can make as much difference as everyone tells me, but I'm excited all the same. I will report back.

Sorry, this is off topic with no pics.

New addition a few days ago. Texturing completed. Now worthy of the rotation. [IMG]

    Thanks!

Rocket, how much of an improvement does texturing like that make? Do you think it would be a good idea on an IWB carry gun like mine?

A ton. It really helps lock my hands on when they are sweaty or even after a few strings of double taps. Also the texturing along the side forward of the take down lever really is more for reference so that under stress I can feel if I have a propper grip on the gun. I think texturing is very important on a carry gun because when things go wrong and you have to pull it, you are gonna be sweaty and moving so fast you want to be able to hold on to it. I do mine fairly mild so its still comfortable IWB. I apendix carry as well as behind the hip but I am also usually wearing a thin t-shirt under my main shirt. Hope that helps.

Very helpful, thanks! If I have the time and money, I should probably do some texturing just like yours.

Time is the hardest part. It takes me about 5-6 hours. All you need is a soldering iron with different tips. Take your time and practice on something first. there are companies that offer the service but they have long turn around times and charge too much.

Would you be willing to give a blow by blow list of what you did and how you did it? I am about to get a new M&P compact and one thing I was considering was to stipple/texture the gun.
