I have recently purchased the new black Leatherman Wave+, but man, are the tools tight. I can't pry them out unless I use a prybar. Does anyone know the best lubricant to use to loosen up these puppies?

I have three suggestions, each of which I have used at one time or another.
    1. WD40. Often. I usually lube my various Leathermans about once a week, or every other day for my work user.
    2. You can loosen up the pivot screws just a little bit. If I recall, they take a T10 tamper proof bit.
    3. Work the individual tools a bit. Seriously, just throw on your favorite tv show and open and close the tools over and over for an afternoon.

I prefer Tuf-Glide to WD-40 for this purpose (I prefer WD-40 as a penetrating oil for stuck fasteners and for displacing water).

I used the same stuff I use on my firearms. Ballistol. Works great.

But I would imagine that any decent penetrating oil would do the trick.

I find that opening and closing them for a period of time works best, lubricants might make them too loose over the long run.

I asked leatherman and they said to soak the tool in some light machine oil for 24 hours, dry off then repeat up to 3 times if needed. My wave is so tight in the pliers area that I collapse the handles when trying to open the pliers.

I'd definitely loosen the pivots as well.
