Leatherman Juice S2 pliers

    I noticed a lot of you have Juice S2 and was wondering, do your pliers close together tightly, or is there space in between the plier head when you close them? I noticed my pliers close together tightly at the top but it flairs open at the bottom which makes straightening pins and needles a bit hard. Is this the same in all juice pliers or I have a defective one in my hands?

    I am looking at a s2 and xe6 and there both like your's.

    I wish thay where totally flat to.

    My Freestyle CX does that, but the gap is only about .75 mm wide. It still would be nice if it were completely parallel.

    Yea, minor gap on the back of mine, but gives good tip strength, I've carried mine for years and it's never been an issue.

    Mine's like this too. I always figured that it was so that when you grip something very thin and flat, you get maximum contact with the teeth of the pliers. If the pliers teeth all met when not gripping anything then you would only get contact at the back when grabbing something thin.

    I did a really bad job of explaining that but hopefully you get the picture!

    That's exactly the reasoning I used when I first saw the gap - seems to do the job fine anyway.

    Exactly the reason... All plier heads has that gap.
