So guys, title says it all. As much as I want one, I can't afford an atwood, so it looks like I'm limited to these three. I like leatherman in general and trust the brand as many do, but the gerber and shrade seem much more useful. Right now I'm diggin' the schrade, but I'm open to suggestions. There's also some sort of skull opmt for sale on amazon that looks kinda cool, but I'm not sure as to the quality and usefulness of the design. Or, should I just get a ps4 squirt? And, as always, thanks guys.

How's the sheath retention wise? I'd keep the sheath on it when its on my keychain. Only thing is I don't know as I'd need the blade, as I've got a vic classic sd on my keychain

I went for the Schrade a few days ago! Beltcutter had me hooked too, plus Ti, whats not to like?
Im waiting for a Schrade and a gerber artifact atm, first one for my edc keychain and last one to keep in my paint kit for opening cans of enamel, trimming the extra paint of the edges etc.

I just got the Brewzer today and bought one for Xiii as well, we were both wanting a pry-bar tool, but couldn't justify getting a County Comm pry bar and the cost of sending it to Perth, Western Australia. just for a $12 buck tool would have cost us around $70 in postage. Love the size and shape fits perfectly in to my Skinth OG Sheath front small pocket.

I have Gerber Shard and Leatherman Brewzer, as a tool i foun Shard is more useful but the Brewzer has a pleasant tactile sensation:) Shard is for work Brewzer is for holding in hand:)

My shard probably opened 10 beers yesterday. Not all were mine though :D I find it opens tough beer well, only if you open with a very quick jerking action.

I have a brewzer and a shard; the shard is lighter and has more tools (the work pretty well too). The brewzer's slotted screwdriver is better than the shard, but that's all I can give it. I recommend saving the dough.

Shard. I hate/love gerber for the cheaply made products that they market/sell however they are some of the best blades and tools you can get at the price you can. Not always but in the case of the shard, this is true. You can get two shards for the price of any OPMT that comes close to the amount of tools the shard has. And for as cheap as 6$ the price is next to impossible to beat. If I'm not worried about price I would recommend as well the boker toucan or an Atwood.

@ doc I want an Atwood soooo much but don't have the money. Maybe in a month or so. I gonna pick up the shard and we'll see how she works out. I might get one at the Dicks on the way home from my d@mn jaw surgery tomorrow. Only thing is I switched carrying my keys on a "biner to pocket carry with a 550 cord lanyard, so I'm kinda wondering how it would feel in the pocket. I've got the same love/hate relationship you do with gerber, but I find most of their folders are ok.

Yeah I don't mind their folders too much tbh. I actually carry one of the fixed blades every now and then. Tbh I really like my Kiowa, its probably the only folder they have that I'd ever carry as a main edc blade. But I don't like Gerber's steel types on most of their blades. But I carry a shard when I'm going minimal carry and it never disappoints.
