Do it. They have free lessons & workshops on the weekend, at least in Union City, CA. Most locations should. Be prepared to spend some money.

To those who make watch straps. Where do you get the hardware? Buckles & keepers. Can they be found at a decent price? I've seen "pre-V" buckle from $10 - $30, way too much for what it is. I'm not looking for pre-v specifically, just quality hardware at a decent price.

Did you try Tandy for buckles?

Yup. In general too big and different style, more like equestrian hardware.

karlito, could you maybe buy a broken watch at a thrift store and reuse the hardware? If the piece is broken, you can probably get it quite inexpensively, maybe even make a deal for a few pieces. Also garage sales, flea market / swap meets.

Thanks! AKA cheapo :D But really it gives you the option of seeing the hardware before you buy.

Those look amazing! I am also just starting in leather craft and have cut, wet formed and dyed my first project but still must stitch it. I have been putting it off because I'm afraid to mess it up, but thats how we learn right?!? Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks! I was really intimidated by the stitching too. I watched Ian Atkinson's YouTube video on stitching and found it extremely helpful (though I made my holes with a drill press rather than an awl or pricking iron). The sewing itself was probably the easiest part of the whole project.

    Hi guys....

Been lurking in the background here for quite a long time. Have had a few attempts at making a few bits but below is now my current edc. I have a saddleback card wallet I love but it's hard to get out the cards (loads of loyalty/discount cards) as it is a bit tight so made my own with a nice mod for my fisher space pen as its always rattling around in my pocket!!

That looks really good! I'm surprised more people don't make wallets with pen loops. I find it's the easiest way to make sure I always have a pen with me. I love the cutout at the bottom to push the cards out. I may have to borrow that idea on my next wallet.

The latest iteration of my pocket organizer. I'm really pleased with this one.
