Hey guys. The last few weeks I have been carrying my 4 as an edc. In the past I have owned a 6 but sold it. Which one is your favorite. Knife that is... The Junglas is awesome but this belongs in the machete/axe department.

This is all just personal preference, of course, but I think that once you are beyond the size of the Izula or the 3, the 6 is the way to go. The 4 and 5 are in no man's land if you ask me.

For me, it depends on the projected task: I range across the ESEEs from Izula to a 6. The Izula is a great EDC for carry in my Maxpud Fatboy, while at the other end the 6 is a great woods knife.

I like the Izula (or Izula II) and the 3, anything bigger doesn't get carried by me.

    Don't underestimate the Izula!

My edc is an izula 2, I have a 3 but never carry it.

I like the 6, but I prefer a 4 inch-ish blade. Of course in combination with a hatchet or whatever

I keep the 4 in my jeep. Izula is a gap filler. (May give it to my daughter one day.) It used to hang out in my man bag but has been replaced by an LT Wright.

Well, I'm a liar. Somehow I walked out the house without a blade so the 3 that lives in the car has been pressed into service as an EDC blade.

I prefer the larger blades and a RAT-7 in D2 is about as lightweight as I care to go when I am out hiking. I love the RAT-7 so I would have to go with the nearly identical EESE 6.

Because I am in the tropics much of the year I use a knife a lot. The Junglas is a good representative of the 10 inch blade with a great sheath. I have one and it carries extremely well for me. But the Junglas is no where in the axe/machete category no matter how you slice it.

I didn't have any of the hardware on hand to fasten the belt clip but zip ties work well too.

Very true about the Junglas. I like large blades a lot, but for me they have no place (except they have because I am a blade-o-holic).

Tell me about it. I work in construction, and everything can be fixed with zip ties and duct tape... :)

    And bailing wire. ;)

As an aside, I shortened some pop rivets and threaded the inside to match a stainless #8 pan-head screw. I came out with cheap, readily available Chicago screws that were just the right length. .

I prefer the ESEE-3 myself, it is lightweight but capable.

The 4 is the only one I own so far, but I love it enough to put a 3 and Izula on the want list. The Izula is probably next.
I've recently been eyeing up the Candiru and Junglas as well- those might go on the list soon too. I love the looks of the Lite Machete but honestly can't justify the extra money over a plain jane Imacasa or Condor for the same blade, a fancy handle and a coating that I'm going to wear off anyways. Plus I'm happy with my cheap and cheerful Tramontina machete, and I'm not afraid to abuse that one as hard as I can- even if it breaks I can get a new one for $15 :D

But if I could only have one, it would be the 6

I really like the 6. But for me it is a bit big. If I have to split a full sized log it is easily done by making a couple of wedges and batoning them through the length of the log horizontally. Don't get me wrong. I really like big knives. But they rarely get used. Unless we are talking about real choppers like 10 inch and up

I like my 5 but it is my first and only so I can't comment on the 4 or 6. 91bravo also does a nice job etching logos. I am going to do the same if I can find the solution.
