Thanks. :) You're right, the description is confusing. They are in fact metal.

Wow, your dog leads look great! How long does it take to make one of them?

Thanks for ther kind words. I don't really time myself from start to finish with one lead. I tend to make batches of them and make each part the same one after the other. At a guess I think it would be around one hours work for one lead.

    Some fobs I made
    [IMG]

Used to wear the spear head at the bottom around my neck, but decided to see what it would look like at the end of a fob

I like using a single lanyard knot as a lanyard. But lately I've wanted to suspend a bead or charm under the knot. So the knot/lanyard would look like a lopsided figure 8. Does anyone know how to do something like this?

You're looking for a knot at one end, then space, the bead, more space, and then the loop at the other end?

    Just a tip guys.....

The box knot works and looks much better if you remove the inner strands from the cord. ;)

    Some of my stuff:

Just curious about the fob, does it always glow or does it die out & need to be recharged with light?

Thanks. You can get the TEC Glow Fob at Jsburlys.com.

It does need to be recharged, like other GITD items. The initial glow is very bright, then you have a steady glow for some time. You can also upgrade it with a Tritium capsule and won't have to worry about recharging for a few years. :D

Some nice stuff there kids but it's too complicated for an old git like me,,,,,,,,I lose interest and fall asleep!

If Utube is too fast then there are websites around where you can see one step at a time and even go back to see where you went wrong,,,, here's Grog's site,,,,, http://www.animatedknots.com/lanyard/index.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com

I like to keep my lanyards plain and simple like this one on a fishing priest I made this week out of Bronze and Titanium,,,, two diamond knots and that's it!! :)

Love your work Boyo. Nice priest to hlep the fish sleep.

You make a good point about lanyards and knots. Sometimes it just has to work and nothing fancy is required.

I will need to try the monkeys knot again some day. I can not get it looking good when tightening.
