I initially wasn't in favor of them, until I started using them on some of my tools.

My knife, SRM 704, has a brass screw-on thing that's meant for piping, and screwed it on to a knot on some paracord. It makes it so easy to grab, and it looks like a bead that is much more expensive. And hey, less than $2, I can't complain!

I like the idea of the 'pinkie' ring for the ladybug; never thought of it but I can see that it would be useful!

I've not yet gotten into working with paracord, etc. However, I often am carrying small knives (e.g. Spyderco Ladybug) as backup in my watch pocket. To aid in getting said knife out of said pocket, I just use a loop of cable tie. No, not as aethetically pleasing as what y'all been writing about. But its quick and it works!

For a few knives and a small torch that I want to dangle at the end of a P-7 in a front pocket, I also use a loop of cable tie.

Yeah, I'm a slacker on this stuff!

    What ever works.

I like paracord because it's a lot less stiff than a cable tie and in a pinch can be repurposed.

It's easy to work and there are a lot of tutorials on the web. A little paracord boondoggling can be relaxing too. Well, once you get used to re-doing it the first few times. It's like anything else that's new to you.

It's a cheap hobby. Until you look for something that needs the lanyard you just made. It's the stuff you put it on that adds up quick.

I went to the vet with some friends. They always say I'm a sick puppy.

The keyring works very as long as you space the length of the cord out just right. It gave the feeling of a full grip on that Ladybug and worked especially well for a Hawkbill to keep it from snagging and pulling out of your hand.

Love them in pictures and the idea of them. Beads and cool knots and such. In practice I always remove them a few days after putting them on my knives.

I like lanyards makes it easier to get to my knife and less chance of it not being there.
