Does anyone know the blade laws for France and Luxembourg? I'm specifically wondering if it's ok for me to carry my LM Juice CS4 (the original version). Thanks
Does the blade lock? The law in France say that a knife, with a locking blade, can be carried "with a good reason". In reality, the French courts have made a decision that a traditional knife (thinking SAK, Opinel or Laguiole type knife) is "part of the French tradition" so can be carried. Realistically I always have a knife in my pocket when I am in France and haven't had any issues. I would *think* you would be OK with a Juice. The only issue you may have is if the police are doing random searches of bags on the Metro, or at the entrances to museums. Just remember to always carry ID too! I have no idea about Luxembourg.
I don't know about Luxembourg but bladed items are forbidden in France. By law, you can't even have a SAK these days. In reality, you will probably be okay with a small MT or SAK but they are illegal on public property. When I went to France, I didn't think it was worth risking it. Of course YMMV and you should weight up the pros and cons for yourself but, for what it's worth, I took a SAK type tool and took the blade off. Being a foreigner caught with an illegal knife could end up badly
