I am living in santa barbara, and I need a knife that is not going to get me arrested. I need a knife that is reliable, folds, and is easy to clean. I would like to be able to carry this knife EDC. Any suggestions would be of great help.
To be on the save side, I would suggest a Mini Grptilian: Small, looks friendly, available in friendly colours (mine is yellow ), bladestyles, with thumbsstuds or hole... The axis-lock is a really nice feature, cleaning is not the problem (I just rinse it when dirty). Just have a look, there“s a Grippi for everyone so long Woz PS: A SAK might be an alternative, if the Grippi should for any reason be illegal in Santa Barbara.
Get a good spyderco or something if it's not illegal. It's tough to beat that kinda construction and ease of maintenance.
I decided to just stick with my leatherman. It has an amazing blade on it already. I was just obsessing on knives :winkwink:
Emerson Snubby For Sure Very tough, very easy to clean and open fast with no springs to break at the wrong time. -Eric
I had the chance to handle a Snubby and it's a GREAT knife! I plan on getting one eventually... I also recommend a small knife like a Spyderco Delica. Not too aggressive looking and a great user. But if you're stuck on your Leatherman maybe you should stay that way. The knife hobby can get expensive, fast!
Check out bruner's folding boxcutter review. The Gerber EAB is very popular, and perhaps the smallest practical folding boxcutter out there right now. I EDC one and like it very much. There are plenty of others though, and the review ought to help you narrow things down.
