Awsome, glad you started the thread. I never got to my 484-1 last night too tired, but will add today when apart.

G-10, bought from USA Knife Maker, that is where I get allot of hardware, beads, handle material, bushing etc...Always has tons of stuff in stock and shipping is very fast, though I must admit their skull bead prices are much higher than Blade HQ but they have a way better selection. All other items seem to be priced accordingly.
CRKT Ken Onion Swindle with grooved handles disassembled. Nice knife, I'd like it in Titanium though or with milled out sections to reduce weight...
Adahn, what's the spring mechanism and bar in the back? I thought that was just a lanyard attachment point and it didn't move.
I love this post. I am actually carrying the same knife today. No other knife has bumped a Spyderco out of my pocket for EDC. It is an amazing knife, especially considering what it costs! I agree that Titanium and/or milling would improve the handles. I would also love to see them with a "pitted" texture like some knifemakers achieve with the tip of a drill bit. I have also considered taking a Dremel or file to square clip and strangely jimped clip spacer, though it looks like I'd better be careful on the end near the clip.
Here is a 484-1 I took apart today to clean all the spray they use at the store I buy from occasionally to "clean up the knives" and to polish the washers. I thought for sure the liners would be skeletonized much more to reduce weight.
At te first moment I was surprised about the jimping, too, but it servers very well when I open the blade or with a reverse grip (for MallNinja-esque self defence). If it's too sharp edged then I'd just break the edge with a file, that helps a lot.
Here is a good shot of the innards of a Cold Steel Triad locking system (re-made into a completely different knife).
I wont lie, I love the concept behind the torsion bar in the cryo and thermite but it will break. This wont. Hence the design
Really impressive how much knife you get from these Svord Peasant knives, considering what it is - two handle slabs, a couple screws and a blade. Makes you think.. why bother reinventing the wheel?
