The trick to the Free Key system is to first attach your stuff (groups of keys, tools, etc) to small split rings, and then attach those small split rings to the Free Key ring. You can use garden variety small split rings from a hardware store which work better than the ones included with the Free key.

This increases the distance from the items to the Frfee Key main ring and they don't get all bunched up.

^That "True Utility Fixr" tool, BTW, is not bad and you can get it for about $4-5 shipped from US distributers or even under $2 from Chinese ones. Search ebay for:
"20 in 1 Pocket Portable Gadget Mini True Utility Multi Tool Keychain Key Ring EDC"
Heck, I bought one just to look at it up close. ;)

I'm new to this forum and thought let's begin with sharing a pic of my keychain.

It regularly has been subject to change, but I have this setting for at least a year now. So, here it is:

It has: Ti ring and Ti clips, Thrunite TiHi, Tec PicoPen, GUS pillfob (holding a spare AAA battery), Victorinox Classic SD Alox, micro-screwdriver-set of unknown brand, Kershaw Chive 1600, keys

Will probably change the Thrunite with the Fenix UC02SS, and the Victorinox with a alox Minichamp.

(Will also properly introduce myself in the right section on the forum of course.)

I tried this too. But then the stuff with the car keys hit my leg when I drive and bunch up in my pocket. Also everything now hangs 90 degrees from the original key chain. So instead of stacking up efficiently they all splay out.

Two things killed the FreeKey for me. Required extra split rings and the fact that I don't really take things off the ring much.

Sent when I probably should have been earning the money this place makes me spend.
