I've been using the micro-lock s-biner also; neither have I ever had one fail. But to tell you the truth, I also have a few ordinary NiteIze s-biners and none of them have ever come off the ring either!

    L'chaim!

I think I've figured out that it's not the biner's fault. It's the fidgeting in my pocket.

Split the tools off the car keys, pulled the multitool and flash light from loose pocket carry and put all of it onto a tool chain set up. I rotate the multitool and the light with others. It's working well, solves my transition to TSA compliance and changing car keys problems. Happy so far. [IMG]

Sorry for the confusion! The carabiner is from Handgrey, it's the H3 model here:
    https://www.handgrey.com/products/handgrey-h3

If you're not familiar with his stuff, do check out his site. He makes some of the most creative and well made EDC gear around.

Took a tip from user ballistic from page 2 of this thread: How do you carry your flashlight?

I've never liked hanging a carabiner off of my belt loop. Although I did it for some time and never had any issues, the thought of ripping off a belt loop really annoys me. This is a handy system for hanging pretty much anything of your belt using breakaway lanyard connectors.

I've been using the locking S-biners to add whichever annoying bulky key fob I need to match the vehicle I'm driving. Haven't had any issues with the biners yet.

I couldn't[IMG] agree more. I carry 3 keys and a fob, that's it. The rest I stash in my truck bag. I've had the pry bar for years and have yet to need it. Cool looking so I keep it around.

I think we are all striving for the perfect balance between minimalist carry and being somewhat prepared for what may come.

My EDC evolves constantly. I think that's what makes it so interesting for me. There's no right or wrong answers.

I have to admit, when I see a setup like this I'm glad I went a somewhat different route. I have three 'rings' set up. Two are virtually duplicates of each other: car key rings. Each has a car fob, key, and a NiteCore Tube; one is on a 'biner for casual days and one is on a smallish ring for when I'm in a suit. Obviously one of these two is at home whilst the other is in use...

The third 'ring' is actually a dangler. It includes the housekey (which I rarely use as I come in via the garage), a LM Squirt PS4, a NiteIze Doohickey, and a very small CountyCom Ti prybar. Any other tools (other than knives) reside in one or more pouches in my bag.

Glad yours works for you; I wouldn't be able to deal with that much bulk on a ring!

    L'chaim!
